Heat Therapy

Post by MikeinCA »

I was wondering if anyone has had any positive experience with heat therapy. I found this tread on a medical website. I thought it maybe of interest. The device sells for 395.00, It's portable and battery operated.

Recwall I have no experience with this but I have bookmarked this website for future use as I think it is the answer for your problems. It is an anal heater for the treatment of haemorrhoids and prostate problems. It is pricey but you can have a look at it ....

Right. Sticking a heated probe up my arse is the answer to my problems.

Forgive my cynicism but do you not think that this board wouldn't exist were that the case?

It doesn't seem to do any more than a heating pad or hot bath. Looks like overpriced junk to me.

And it has some of the hallmarks of quackery:
In 1977 inventor Rodger Q. Estes of Spokane, Washington, had a bad case of hemorrhoids and backed into a hot radiator. Experiencing rapid relief of pain he developed a device with a heated probe that could deliver heat to his internal hemorrhoids as well. A few years later a commercial device appeared on the market that gained FDA approval for hemorrhoids in 1982.

Early users reported the device did far more than control hemorrhoids. Healing responses were seen in parts of the body far from the anus, now believed to be the result of stimulation of the meridian energy system described in Oriental Medicine
The claim of healing far from the anus, or the healing of numerous maladies with one form of treatment (in this case heating probe to the rear passage) is typical of quackery.
Good News! The great ProstaQ is BACK at last! You must try it.
