Hi there.
New poster - 31 years old - just diagnosed with what my dr. believes to be CP. My intial flare up was last fall, after several nights of drinking on a trip - suddenly I was waking up to urinate every hour it seemed for several days. Symptoms subsided for several months until a flare up recently - which sent me to the Doctor. Was afraid to go to the doctor at first because I was thinking Prostate Cancer.
I haven't, luckily, had much pain so far, just more discomfort/pressure in the perineum and rectum - increased urination, esp at night. The doctor did severals tests (DRE, PSA/Bloodword, Urine), and I'm waiting to hear back - but his intial feeling is CP. Currently on 2 week course of Cipro. I have to go back in 2 weeks to see a Urologist.
My question is if any of you had experienced this: I find myself unable to feel comfortable spending the night sleeping with my girlfriend at times. The uncomfortable sensation leaves me unable to relax fully and sleep and I end up having to leave most of the time. Anyone else find this? I've also felt uncomfortable sitting with groups of people (ie. in a theatre or plane)
Any advice would be welcome.
Is this common?

Why do you feel uncomfortable near others?
Good News! The great ProstaQ is BACK at last! You must try it.

I guess it just when I am in close proximity to groups of people, during which time my symptoms are acting up (pressure/discomfort etc).
Also, because when I stay at my girlfriend's place, I don't sleep as well and find I have to get up a few times in the night to urinate, which compounds the problem.
On a different note - is the general feeling that Saw Palmetto gives any relief?

Saw Palmetto is not much use for this condition.

As I understand it, Saw Palmetto has been useful in treatment of BPH (enlarged prostate). The other ingredients in Akia's forumula -- Pygeum, Stinging Nettle, and (perhaps) Pumkin Seed Oil -- might well be effective in fighting the battle against inflammation in the prostate and elsewhere.Akia wrote:
I've been taking a saw palmetto supplement with pygeum, stinging nettle, and pumpkin seed oil for about four and half months now. I found that my symptoms have improved steadily..
