Laughter
I'm posting this because I think it's an important roll in treating our condition. For many of us type A personality people who charge hard through life or the quiet introspective person who keeps to Himself. We are all different types of Men who come down with this condition which in my strict belief, is fueled by tension and anxiety. One of the things we have to remember that so long as we have been cleared for all other possible serious causes for our condition like cancer, bph, strictures etc. we may be able to at times not take our condition so seriously and maybe laugh at it sometimes, when it's right. Many of you may not find this comfortable to talk about, and that's fine, but I think it's important to let Men know this thing is real. I have found that many Men's curiosity gets to them and they ask more about it as I try to explain this very difficult to explain disorder. My point is I sometimes laught at this and can sometimes make my self the BUTT of the joke on this if you will, ( no pun intended ) and I find relief in that. Just something to think about. We need to laugh more, it's good for us and in retrospect, can ease some mental and physical tension we are holding on to.

I encourage anxiety prone UCPPS people to consider L-Theanine
Age, 44 onset age 37 Feb 2006 Freq. need to urinate. Sensation of having to urinate soon after going. Perineum discomfort/burning/tightness, pubic area discomfort @ times, poor urine stream, post urine dripping/spray. All symptoms have improved with my protocol. At the worst I give it a 1 to 2 on irritation and discomfort and frequency. Helps: Elavil 5mg for anxiety and mast cell protection, (will only take it as needed) self internal PT as needed, stretching, walking, stairmaster cardio workout and light weights, reducing stress, moment to moment relaxation, deep breathing relaxation and using a Theracane. Makes worse: sitting for long periods, stress, over focusing on it. Currently 95%-98% recovered. Stay positive, relaxed and control your anxiety.

I agree Carl. I laugh at myself for being "one of those awkward people with food allergies" & I threaten to buy fruit instead of cakes for people at work!
CPPS is a funny one for me - I really keep it to myself (rightly or wrongly) and that way I find that people treat me the same as they always have. Why wouldnt they I guess? That somehow disempowers chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome for me & in my own little way persuades me that it hasnt effected me so bad! But yes laughing at it with your mates is a good way of staying positive about your healing.
