good news!

Post by Rufus »

Age:37 | Onset Age: 35 | Symptoms: pain in testicles that comes and goes that also switches sides-trying to find a pattern as to "why" this happens/Rectal Burn at the 6 O'clock position at my anus which tends to flare around the periphery of my anus typically after defication but no perineum pain-no "golf ball" pain. Pain in testicles worsens as I sit but not always...Pain is not always present but depresses me. Pain used to be at a very high level but has subsided in time to a low level but has not gone away. Pain used to flare after sex but not as much as before although it still like playing russian roulette./
/Lack of SleepHelped By: I haven't found anything that has helped to my knowledge. Tried many many sessions of PT, accupuncture and chiropractic care but still have not found steady relief that takes me back to a pre CPPS state.

Prostavac, a vaccine against CP/CPPS/Pelvic Myoneurpathy? I don't think so.

If you google the product name you can find the same news report on quite a few news sites.

For me it will be interesting to see if this is proven, over time, to be a bit of a nonsense or not. Still, I won't dismiss it without further proof either way.

That's how a PR campaign works.

Nothing on PubMed yet. Most of the links refer to Forst who are a major investor in AmVac. If anyone can find the clinical trial results then that would be interesting.
Age 56: Onset 2006 and bouts on and off since then. See posts for details.

Yes, but it's also how news travels. I can see where you are coming from by saying what you are saying and I tend to think this will probably be just a way of selling a product that may well not do much. But it's worth keeping an eye on before that it's proven one way or another.

Of course we'll watch it, but unfortunately I've seen these wonder cure drugs come and go a few times already, and this one has all the hallmarks of a scam by starting out on paid PR websites. Tip: if you first hear of something from an advertising puffery website where the manufacturer/author has paid to have the "good news" disseminated, it's almost always rubbish. If it has peer-reviewed studies backing it, that sort of promotion is not necessary.

Other warning signs are the shotgun claims (cures BPH, CP and bad breath!!), and the lack of mention of bacterial/nonbacterial CP.

Yeah I agree, I am deeply cynical of any so called "cures" for Crohn's Disease or Ulcerative Colitis as I suffer with the latter and have seen the "cures" come and go.

But I have to be completely truthful to you now, before I came on this website I had visited the Quercetin suppliers website and thought that to be a little dodgy as well, I think it was all the smiley faces on the product page. I didn't bother researching into it as I had seen what I call the "smiley face syndrome" style of advertising before. I get deeply disturbed when a company feels the need to show that against their products. On joining this forum and seeing all of the testimonies of course my opinion has changed, as so many real sufferers are gaining symptoms relief from any accredited quercetin product and other Quercetin suppliers products..... but I do keep more of an open mind because of that.

The vast majority of the medical community hasn't yet figured out that over 90% of "chronic prostatitis" cases aren't caused by infection, yet they've now discovered a VACCINE?
Now that's funny. At least they came up with a cute little name.
Age: 32 | Symptoms: Twingy pain/muscle spasms in groin area (gone), tingling sensation at tip of penis (has resolved as of now), urinary frequency (resolved as of now), thicker/decreased amount of semen (resolved as of now). Makes better: Stretching, Relaxing pelvic muscles, moment to moment relaxation, not sitting with legs crossed, Elavil, quercetin. Makes worse: Sitting, stress, more than one orgasm/day, constipation, manual labour

And of course Quercetin suppliers's products have independent published studies backing them up. That's the key difference.

Point taken Gav. But as far as I know, Quercetin suppliers had a peer reviewed study on its product done BEFORE they started marketing specific health claims.

riderfan and webslave,

I agree with your last posts. As I said as soon as I saw the smiley faces on the Quercetin supplier website I dismissed the whole thing. With hindsight I should have reseached more into the product. You just get accustomed to it with experience I guess...
