Has anyone ever been cured from this board by the SP?
I don't mean acceptance of the pain and downsizing your life, I truly mean pain free, living my life like I used to, took care of the pelvic floor and now I can go about my business cured?

AHIP & SP Cure
Age:37 | Onset Age: 35 | Symptoms: pain in testicles that comes and goes that also switches sides-trying to find a pattern as to "why" this happens/Rectal Burn at the 6 O'clock position at my anus which tends to flare around the periphery of my anus typically after defication but no perineum pain-no "golf ball" pain. Pain in testicles worsens as I sit but not always...Pain is not always present but depresses me. Pain used to be at a very high level but has subsided in time to a low level but has not gone away. Pain used to flare after sex but not as much as before although it still like playing russian roulette./
/Lack of SleepHelped By: I haven't found anything that has helped to my knowledge. Tried many many sessions of PT, accupuncture and chiropractic care but still have not found steady relief that takes me back to a pre CPPS state.

A lot of guys have reported a complete or near complete cessation of symptoms. They don't usually hang around to discuss it, so it sometimes seems as if everyone is always struggling to get better.
An example of those who got better and moved away is "TK"

Rufus, something you may want to think about is the SP is not the only approach to dealing with this. You really have to hit this thing on all fronts. PT, internal and external, stretching, diet and looking for food intolerances. Anti-inflammatory products like BP-Q, any accredited quercetin product or Quercetin. Aleve (naproxen), hot baths antihistamines. Sitting in front of a fire place and relaxing or winding down everyday. I know it's really hard for you right now. Rufus you are in that dreaded vicious cycle that we all have been in. To get out, you have to pull yourself away from that catastrophic thinking. I know, man I have been there. I can look back to my worst days when this thing first hit me. I remember reading A HEADACHE IN THE PELVIS #3 for the first time and I remember it giving me more anxiety because it wasn't a eat this or take that approach. I had to put it down and I remember thinking maybe this approach won't be needed for me. I'm a different case. Well when days turned into weeks and weeks tuned into months, I had to go for it full force if I was going to get better. Reading about the SP can be overwhelming if you think about it. Having to get a f***ing finger shoved in your ass is already hard enough to deal with when a Urologist goes in there. Now a PT has to go in there and do it, over and over!!! Let alone you really have to learn the home treatment and do it yourself!!?? This is heavy to deal with, but now it's just part of my weekly routine right now and the progress is being made. I'm 85 to 90% better in less than a year after this hit me and when I'm uncomfortable now, it's a lot less discomfort and virtually no burning fire in my perineum. I think it's because of how I have hit this thing full on and mixing it with time, it works. It will for you as well and I owe it all to people like Webslave and scoobysnacks and the moderators who helped me get through. Total strangers who have reached out to get me through. This thing can be humiliating at times, but it's the humble / humility of great Men helping other Men deal with this and allowing us to prevail to our own degree! Cheers...

I encourage anxiety prone UCPPS people to consider L-Theanine
Age, 44 onset age 37 Feb 2006 Freq. need to urinate. Sensation of having to urinate soon after going. Perineum discomfort/burning/tightness, pubic area discomfort @ times, poor urine stream, post urine dripping/spray. All symptoms have improved with my protocol. At the worst I give it a 1 to 2 on irritation and discomfort and frequency. Helps: Elavil 5mg for anxiety and mast cell protection, (will only take it as needed) self internal PT as needed, stretching, walking, stairmaster cardio workout and light weights, reducing stress, moment to moment relaxation, deep breathing relaxation and using a Theracane. Makes worse: sitting for long periods, stress, over focusing on it. Currently 95%-98% recovered. Stay positive, relaxed and control your anxiety.

I just started doing it. It is very strange to say the least. I have been very careful and only do it a few minutes every other day right now. (with a gloved hand and lubed up ) To early to tell if it is helping, I figure it can't hurt to give it a go. My PT has done it enough where I know where the finger placement is and I just try to relax the muscles, because I tend to tense the sphincter as I go in. I think that's a natural reaction. So I will keep you posted on my progress. As of right now, It has not hurt me, or re-created my syptoms like my PT has, but I think the key difference is my PT still believes that while she is doing it, she has you take a breath and do the elevator and pull her finger up and breathe out. I think that's not helpful in my case and causes a flair up. When I do it, I'm relaxed the whole time and so far so good?

To rip off 'Excalibur', "For it is the doom of men that they forget". Check the success stories. There are a good number of people who no longer grace the board because they got better. It's just a fact of life that no-one wants to be reminded of the bad times.
Age 56: Onset 2006 and bouts on and off since then. See posts for details.

I've resumed my normal life and I am pain free, and I used the SP.
The thing is, I am not the same person I was before I engaged in the SP, so the simplest answer to your question is , no, you cannot use the SP and remain the way you were before the problem.
But if you do use the SP, the person you will be will be just as capable and in control as before the SP, just less ignorant of what that truly entails.
If "running your business" requires being a ruthless asshole who hates himself inside, then you are likely to fail at combining SP with your business. On the other hand, if you are a genuine person in touch with who you are and can still compete in the marketplace, then yes, it will work and you will still be able to run your business.
Sorry to be so blunt.
in other words, Donald Trump could never be cured by the SP unless he was willing to abandon "the Donald".

This is not medical advice, and I am NOT a doctor of medicine or a related field.
* Age:33 Onset: February 2004.
* 99.9% IMPROVEMENT in 2.5 Years with the first year being the really hard part
* Current Symptoms: Mild irritation of perineal muscles on occasion. Relieved for days at a time by a specific stretch (see below).
* Initial Symptoms: Terrible penile, urethral, rectal, and perineal burning/aching with addition afferent sensations.
* Current Treatments: Deep stretching of the legs and pelvis. Most effective: Deep psoas and levitar ani stretch using the first phase of the "pigeon pose" from Yoga. When a deep pulling is felt in the middle of the pelvis next to the upper rectum, symptoms are completely alleviated for several days.
* Past Treatments Hyperprotection of the perineum for 1.7 years, Walking, Rectal biofeedback, Stanford/Wise-Anderson Protocol, Conditioned deep relaxation practice, Men's Multi-Vitamin and an Extra B-complex pill, all seemed to help.

LT, I know that once you found the stretch that relieved your symptoms you seem to be doing very well. How often were you getting TP treatments. I'm just curious to know if you had TPs treated and if you found that as important as doing the other parts of the SP.
Thanks

Garys,
Look through Lightning's old posts by clicking on his name. He had PT for about 5 months I believe then like his brother he embarked on a protocol of intensive stretching over many months alongside other strategies!
