my dre reveals painful left rectal wall

Post by VBBronco »

When I get a prostate massage my uro says that my prostate is boggy but my only pain comes from the left rectal wall and he is using trigger point release to deactivate it. Chronic clenching?

It's not the wall of the rectum that's painful, it's the muscles behind it. See diagrams :

THanks, I am wondering if a stressed out levator ani is my problem. THe only thing that makes me still believe chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome is a prostate problem is my split stream that never goes away ever and yellowish semen.

Oh, the prostate can and does become inflamed with CPPS. Make no mistake. Even though people talk about muscles here all the time, the nerves in the area that innervate both muscles and prostate definitely affect the prostate.

yea I agree.I think for me the worst thing about this condition is not knowing what the hell caused it. It hit me at twenty four and I had only had two sex partners in my life. For some reason I still think something just swam up in there even though we all pretty much know this is not the case. My personality is not typical for chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome but some of my traits are related. I lash out at others instead of holding in stress. I was known for being a brutal lacrosse player in my state, I am a type a personality so this could feed the cycle, I have lifted a lot of weights, and I stress over things in the past that I cannot change and chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome has been the latest most crippling one. I guess you could some me up as an aggressive jock who walked around for fifteen years flexing like a rooster but has a lot of brains and sensitivity as well. Thanks

VB,

When you say the left rectal wall, are you refering to a spot up beyond the prostate(above it) and then to the left, maybe about as far as a PT's finger could goup there?

This is not medical advice, and I am NOT a doctor of medicine or a related field.
* Age:33 Onset: February 2004.
* 99.9% IMPROVEMENT in 2.5 Years with the first year being the really hard part
* Current Symptoms: Mild irritation of perineal muscles on occasion. Relieved for days at a time by a specific stretch (see below).
* Initial Symptoms: Terrible penile, urethral, rectal, and perineal burning/aching with addition afferent sensations.
* Current Treatments: Deep stretching of the legs and pelvis. Most effective: Deep psoas and levitar ani stretch using the first phase of the "pigeon pose" from Yoga. When a deep pulling is felt in the middle of the pelvis next to the upper rectum, symptoms are completely alleviated for several days.
* Past Treatments Hyperprotection of the perineum for 1.7 years, Walking, Rectal biofeedback, Stanford/Wise-Anderson Protocol, Conditioned deep relaxation practice, Men's Multi-Vitamin and an Extra B-complex pill, all seemed to help.

Yeah man, it hits the jocks too, my game was soccer and I lifted a ton of weights in my lifetime too, to the point of neurotic. But my tendency to hold in my pelvis and being all clenched like you said was what caused this. I dont attribute the actual lifting, I attribute my personality and perfectionistic ways to getting this tight pelvis thing.

Hey bro I just read your home page after reading your response to my last post. I think the holding in the stomach part to make your chest look bigger and waist smaller is something I have always done too and is the cause of our pelvic floor dysfunction. I have gotten my chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome under control with 10 mg of valium a day, any accredited quercetin product and internal trigger point release. My initial symptom was sever teste pain but now I have it down to some lower back pain and urinary frequency. I am 26 young like you. College educated and a real ambitious popular guy. THis chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome has really been a terrible thing for me. I was wondering if you have a urine stream that always splits like me? I also have occasional ED and my semen has changed to a stringy consistency. Thanks and god bless.

VB,

No man, I dont have a split stream, or ED, or stringy semen. We all get hit in different ways.

I would reiterate my main symptoms at first, but if you read my blog, you basically know, and my main symptoms at first are listed below.

What I have now is inflammation in the urethra at times, and inflammation at times in the anus region, and a spasm upon trying to urinate. Sometimes its there when the floor is tight, and when the floor is loose I pee fine, no hiccups or spasm upon first trying to pee.

I use 2mg of Valium every once in a while. 10mg a day is a pretty high dose for daily use, just be careful on the addiction side of things. I do use 2 pills of Q-rol daily.

Regards,

SS
