In Feb of 2004 I thought I might have an STD (equipment failure during intercourse with casual acquaintance) but a visit to the URO had all tests come back negative. Very painful penis tip, anal area with shooting pain from anus out through right buttock, hot ball when sitting, and lower back pain. Very painful after ejaculation sometimes for two to three days. Prostate seemed to be very tender at this time.
Uro put me on 30 days of Cipro and most of the symptoms seemed to subside a little and never go away but would come back full force at times.
Uro did another 30 day Cipro routine and pain symptoms were lessened by about 80% but have never gone away complelety. Prostate does not feel tender at all now. Since 2004 I have always had pain to the right of my anus that travels out the right buttock and up into the lower back and down the right leg to about mid thigh. Sometimes this pain is just an annoyance and other times it is very disturbing. I still have pain after ejaculating and sometimes it comes on directly after and subsides slowly and other times it waits 12 -24 hours to hit.
Does this sound like CPPS??
Also, could my anal pain be caused by taking so much Cipro. I have seen some posts about Cipro side effects and people have said that the Cipro caused inflamation of the bowel tissue
Thanks in advance!

Sounds like common-or-garden CPPS, but the pain down the right thigh could be a sign of sciatica.

No, I don't believe Cipro can cause anal pain.

My leg pain is in the back of the leg and extends from the middle of the right buttock just below the belt line then travels out to the side and then down to about mid thigh but always in the back of the leg.
I had sex a week ago and am still having more anal and penis pain than was present before the sex. Is this a standard symptom for CPPS?
I have been stretching more than ever to try and help but so far not much success!
Thanks in advance!

This thread has been helpful; most of the chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome symptoms described by hotbot parallel my own. And the diagrams by webslave confirm that sciatica is a part of my problem. I went to my yoga instructor with my complaint of sciatica and he gave me an excercise for it. I just returned from a trip abroad so I now have an opportunity to add the excercise to my regimen. I'll let you know if it helps.
