Hi everyone, great site. I am 30 years old and am not sure if I have CP or some other terrible problem. My problems first started about 18 months ago with erectile dysfunction. Certainly a very humiliating and frustrating condition for a man my age. It has almost ruined my marriage. I have had some mild discomfort behind my penis (sensation of a tennis ball stuck in there), the pain is not unbearable but it is noticable. I also noticed in the year before my problems that my semin seemed to be a yellowish color. My night time erections all but stopped and my erections during intercoarse are not nearly as hard as they used to be or should be. Just barely good enough for penetration and I have to really concentrate to maintain. It is also more difficult for me to get an erection and takes much longer to climax. My penis just feels "dead" most of the time. This condition seems to improve a little for a couple of weeks but then go back to being poor. It's hard to say if I have constant urges to urinate because I drink 2 to 3 quarts of water a day - I always have to pee. My flow seems to be good though. I have noticed a few times (3) the urge to urinate right after voiding but nothing will come out. My lymph nodes in my groin area sometimes itch and are tender. I have been to a men's health clinic and had all the tests done. During my vascular flow study, the nurse gave me a shot to give me a prostate erection......OUCH! She could not find much good blood flow and told me she was surprised I could even get an erection. Viagra really did not help either. Are these symptoms of CP??!! I am very worried I will have to go through the rest of my life with this condition as it is extremely depressing and frustating not to mention the overwhelming humiliation. They did a PSA blood test and told me it was fine but the doctor never did a DRE. All replies are extremely appriciated, please help!!! - Tommy
One last thing I forgot to mention, I've had headaches almost daily for 7 years and have to take Excedrin almost daily. I have read a lot about prostaglandins. Excedrin works by inhibiting prostaglandin production. Does the chronic use of analgesics (sp?) that inhibit prostaglandins cause any prostate problems? Sorry to be so long - Thanks!

Hard to say if this is CP but you definitely need to see a urologist. Did the mens health clinic you refer to have a urologogist? Before diagnosing CP a lot of things must be ruled out.

Agreed. We cannot diagnose for you. If you are diagnosed with chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome you're welcome to come back and discuss it.
Good News! The great ProstaQ is BACK at last! You must try it.

Tests done by my doctor
My family doctor did not do any tests on me, he just slapped me on the back and said that I wasn't 18 anymore and offered me some Viagra. The only way I wound up at a men's clinic was because of my own will to search for the real reason behind my problems. They did everything to me (except a DRE) . I've requested a copy of all my records from them. They told me everything was normal except for my vascular flow study (blood flow in the prostate) and that they were done testing me. The doctor told me he did not know what was causing the resticted blood flow and said that I was now in the treatment phase.
I'm not really looking for a diagnosis here, just some insight. I had never heard of CP until after all my doctors visits. I'm just wondering if CP is a possible cause of my problems. I'm also a little puzzled that niether one of my doctors even mentioned or brought up CP. I guess I'll bring it up when I find a urologist and see what he thinks (if he too cannot find anything wrong with me) - Thanks for your answers. Tommy

A very typical sign of CPPSCertainly a very humiliating and frustrating condition for a man my age. It has almost ruined my marriage. Why do you have to drink so much water? This condition seems to improve a little for a couple of weeks but then go back to being poor. It's hard to say if I have constant urges to urinate because I drink 2 to 3 quarts of water a day
Quite surprising. Was that the Men's Clinic in Toronto?- I always have to pee. My flow seems to be good though. I have noticed a few times (3) the urge to urinate right after voiding but nothing will come out. My lymph nodes in my groin area sometimes itch and are tender. Yes, it can result in prostate abnormalities. One last thing I forgot to mention, I've had headaches almost daily for 7 years and have to take Excedrin almost daily. You may be one of the more infrequent cases with a weak prostate infection, not CPPS. I arrive at this conclusion because you mentioned a yellow discharge. Not normal in a healthy (un-infected prostate).

My chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome symptoms started like this for many years before I got intense pain.jVan wrote:You may be one of the more infrequent cases with a weak prostate infection, not CPPS. Prostate infections can trigger CPPS. Why is there considered a difference between chronic prostatitis and CPPS. Aren't they pretty much one in the same? Or at least, CP causes CPPS. And treating CP early can prevent CPPS, and treating CP may be a necessary part of healing for CPPS. After all, this website is ucpps.men
If someone has yellowish/greenish tinted semen instead of white, does that signal bacterial infection?
Age:24 | Onset Age:19 | Symptoms: frequent urination, slow flow, perineum pain, penis tip pain, sometimes lower and upper back pain and foot pain, erectile dysfunction, depression. | Helped By: QUERCETIN, Low carb diet, elimination diet, proper progesterone levels, hot baths | Worsened By: Increased DHT(dihydrotestosterone) from TRT, carbs/sugar, food allergies, not masturbating

Re: Chronic Prostatitis or not....please help!
Greenish semen is suspicious and I would have that cultured. Yellowish semen is common in chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome (and in men without CPPS).
