You know what though, there are little nuances that I have learned from trial and error that are not in AHIP. And I would bet many of you have the same stories. Its that thing that finally made a lightbulb go on, maybe something you did that allowed you to actually relax the pelvic floor for the first time in two years, etc and so forth.
Its those titbits that if someone compiled a book with excerpts from sufferers on how they took the shell provided by AHIP and found their "cure." That would be a good read and beneficial to all I think.
I'm a decent writer, it comes with the career, but I don't know if I have the time. It would entail interviewing everyone for the book, drafting, re-drafting, etc and so forth.
Each chapter could be a section about a certain type of sufferer, those who have allergies, highly anxious socially types, those like myself who are more body conscience and developed my tensing of the region by sucking in the abdomen, those who may have experienced trauma. Then list their symptoms, so that the readers can associate with them or the next group, and try some of the intricacies that that group may have done to heal themselves or get themselves on the healing path. Something like that, if done legitimately, could be a helpful book.
What are your thoughts on that?

Gez, I guess chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome is now officially mainstream... <cough>
The website give me a really uncomfortable vibe. The type of language used is a bit "used-car sale like". ie. never nailed me down for saying this book will cure you but look at all these wonderful things...blah blah
The date on the page, self-generated to show up as today's date, nice sales trick for Amazon, maybe, but a medical related book?? I see a bit too many dollar $ sign flashing at me on this website.
If it's me, I would publish my experience free on the web. I have taken too much valuble information from everyone here and elsewhere without paying a dime.

I may though as things settle for me in my personal life.

I think a free FAQ from our collective knowledge is the way to go here. But there is still so much to learn, we wouldn't want a FAQ to appear too rigid or axiomatic.
This is not medical advice, and I am NOT a doctor of medicine or a related field.
* Age:33 Onset: February 2004.
* 99.9% IMPROVEMENT in 2.5 Years with the first year being the really hard part
* Current Symptoms: Mild irritation of perineal muscles on occasion. Relieved for days at a time by a specific stretch (see below).
* Initial Symptoms: Terrible penile, urethral, rectal, and perineal burning/aching with addition afferent sensations.
* Current Treatments: Deep stretching of the legs and pelvis. Most effective: Deep psoas and levitar ani stretch using the first phase of the "pigeon pose" from Yoga. When a deep pulling is felt in the middle of the pelvis next to the upper rectum, symptoms are completely alleviated for several days.
* Past Treatments Hyperprotection of the perineum for 1.7 years, Walking, Rectal biofeedback, Stanford/Wise-Anderson Protocol, Conditioned deep relaxation practice, Men's Multi-Vitamin and an Extra B-complex pill, all seemed to help.

The guy is not a doctor, why would anybody believe he have the knowledge to "cure" cpp?
People really need to be educated about prostatitis, so when they start having symptoms (like we all did at one point), they won't panic and look in the wrong direction, not only wasting money but valuable time.

Actually, I'm not a doctor, but I bet I could help you get on the right path with chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome much better than the average uro. I've found that when dealing with a chronic condition the patient studies, and gains as much, it not more knowledge about their condition than any doctor.
My wifes sis is a doctor, and she probably couldn't tell me the first thing about healing CPPS.

don't mean to drag up old posts but heres my 2 cents
.....
i didn't know exactly what my problem was I searched the net after getting nowhere with my doctors and came across daynes book I thought about it for a few months before buying it as I was a bit unsure about it,but I thought I got nothing to lose but a few $$ and it MAY help me....
anyway I got the book I have to say and i`m honest in what I type....that book more than likely saved my life!....i was suicidal because of my pain and I nearly checked out but after reading that book I understood my condition....it was written in laymans terms and I personally have a hard time understanding books (guess you could say i`m a bit thick
)....it answered a lot of questions I had and I have been following his book/exercises for about 2 months now within the first month it stopped a very severe pain I used to get down the back of my right leg and cheek bum.....i have emailed dayne many, many times for advise and he has always answered/replied to me and for that I thank him.....
because I learnt so much from his book it led me to do more research and made me find this forum and you guys a couple of days ago and I have to say finding this site is like another BIG lifeline and for that I am so,so grateful.....
i would say if your from/on this site then you would know pretty much whats in daynes book but if you know nothing of your condition and are "lost" as I was then surely its a good thing to have this book out there i`m sure it has saved my life so if it only touched me it was worth dayne writing the book

I would suggest that the new expanded edition of Wise's A Headache in the Pelvis would be a far better addition to anyone's library.
Good News! The great ProstaQ is BACK at last! You must try it.

Dayne learned from Wise.
My biggest problem with Dayne is that his website claims that he was symptom free. Whether or not that is true now I do not know. But I do know that at the time his website stated that fact, it was not true.
He's a really nice guy though.

i never knew anything about dr wise`s book untill I read about dayne recommending it in his ebook.....webslave wrote:I would suggest that the new expanded edition of Wise's A Headache in the Pelvis would be a far better addition to anyone's library.
dr wise`s book will be the first thing I order monday along with a couple of other books people have mentioned on this site
i dont think for one minute dayne was trying to rip people of I really do think he was just trying to get information out there and help other people....the more correct information out there the more chance people will be diagnosed correctly with there condition....i was saying to my partner last night how many people must have sadly ended it all because they didn't have the info or help they needed?....i know for one I came very close and i`m sure others have before they found this site/dr wise/or daynes ebook...
i found this site 3 days ago and already I have learned to relax far more because I understand theres help out there and more info ....PLEASE all keep up the good work of helping others out and hopefully one day this condition will be thought of as no more worse than the common cold,it comes and it WILL go (with help)
peace brothers
