Support from Wives

Post by texas2006 »

Would anyone here who's wife has been supportive be willing to share stories with my wife? She is trying, but I think she would benefit from talking to other wives on a regular basis.

Email me, if you can.
Thanks.

What is is

I'm in no way suggesting that my way is right, in hindsight I regret it.
Still I have to tell you that after several years of watching a wonderful wife suffer with what was then an unknown ailment, I flat out left her. I just thought she deserved better than having to share that hell with me.

It is somewhat different for you guys now, as you know what you are dealing with, there are explanations for your suffering. And you do not need to rely on largely unhelpful and inaccurate diagnoses from doctors.

I had one uro tell me I was allergic to sex with my wife. Suffer enough and you will believe any stupidity.

My wife is a rock she is firmly behind me 100 percent she has even gave me a prostate massage. She understands why we hardly ever have sex any more. She is pushing me a little hard to make myself a nuisance so I do not have to wait so long for treatment. She has helped me in my relationships with my children as my pain has been so consistent and severe I had been snapping at my children and my wife. The oxycodone has helped quite a bit but I needed to learn to stop and think before reacting. I will ask he if she could talk to other as she probably needs support herself which talking to other wives could bring. Please PM me and I will relay it to her.

My wife has been very patient. For 3 years, she kind of let my responsibilities slide. Its in her nature to be responsible and to take control, so this was not too difficult for her.

I'm not really sure what to say beyond that. I'll ask my wife what she thinks about posting something on this forum, and get back to you.

This is not medical advice, and I am NOT a doctor of medicine or a related field.
* Age:33 Onset: February 2004.
* 99.9% IMPROVEMENT in 2.5 Years with the first year being the really hard part
* Current Symptoms: Mild irritation of perineal muscles on occasion. Relieved for days at a time by a specific stretch (see below).
* Initial Symptoms: Terrible penile, urethral, rectal, and perineal burning/aching with addition afferent sensations.
* Current Treatments: Deep stretching of the legs and pelvis. Most effective: Deep psoas and levitar ani stretch using the first phase of the "pigeon pose" from Yoga. When a deep pulling is felt in the middle of the pelvis next to the upper rectum, symptoms are completely alleviated for several days.
* Past Treatments Hyperprotection of the perineum for 1.7 years, Walking, Rectal biofeedback, Stanford/Wise-Anderson Protocol, Conditioned deep relaxation practice, Men's Multi-Vitamin and an Extra B-complex pill, all seemed to help.
