Apologies

Post by GP2 »

...if my previous posting was in any way brash or cocky.

To be honest with you I am just hoping that psychotherapy helps me with my pain too. I think there will be a connection. I just feel very emotional after my first session - I love my mom loads & we had a big cry with her since I confronted her about the past - she felt so guilty and I felt more connected to her than I ever have. I don't blame her at all.

Worried about brothers too - although they don't seem to have suffered IB or panic attacks as bad as me nor were their relations with mom quite so bad.

I guess the thought of chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome & all the motions that therapy will drag up may be a lot to bear & I'm worried. Good thing is - my chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome has been under control from reading AHIP & this site. I just don't want it to go ballistic but if you take the right steps now I'm sure you can stop it getting worse. I'm sure you'd all agree right??

Please advise even if only this message

Thanks

I don't think you have anything to apologise for. It seems to me this board is here to help and to do that we all have to have inquiring minds and be receptive to different theories.

I find it very encouraging to read about what has worked for others because, although there is no guarantee it'll work for me, it gives me more avenues to explore.

Indeed - nothing to apologise for

It certainly sounds like the psychotherapy will be a key component in your recovery.

Thanks for that

You know what - I'm finally stating to accept all this & during the better days I know that no matter how bad it gets there's a "cure" thanks to this site.

If it gets worse I'll take the next step - if it doesn't then bonus. Meanwhile I've learnt the most important thing I believe - STRESS MANAGEMENT & LAUGHING MORE AT LIFE!

Apart from stress about chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome my life is pretty much stress free - this has taken a lot of hard work. People don't get my back up like they once did & I take one day at a time & don't pressure myself to be someone I'm not. Above all else this has been my most crucial therapy!

I agree, your original post was well thought out.

We all try to stay open minded here. Learning to laugh at things and let stress out has a great impact on my CPPS.

Even more generally, it will make you a healthier individual all around. This has been proven in folklore and carefully set up research, time and time again.

This is not medical advice, and I am NOT a doctor of medicine or a related field.
* Age:33 Onset: February 2004.
* 99.9% IMPROVEMENT in 2.5 Years with the first year being the really hard part
* Current Symptoms: Mild irritation of perineal muscles on occasion. Relieved for days at a time by a specific stretch (see below).
* Initial Symptoms: Terrible penile, urethral, rectal, and perineal burning/aching with addition afferent sensations.
* Current Treatments: Deep stretching of the legs and pelvis. Most effective: Deep psoas and levitar ani stretch using the first phase of the "pigeon pose" from Yoga. When a deep pulling is felt in the middle of the pelvis next to the upper rectum, symptoms are completely alleviated for several days.
* Past Treatments Hyperprotection of the perineum for 1.7 years, Walking, Rectal biofeedback, Stanford/Wise-Anderson Protocol, Conditioned deep relaxation practice, Men's Multi-Vitamin and an Extra B-complex pill, all seemed to help.
