What do you do about that "golfball in rectum" fee

Post by Baltimark »

When I am having a particularly tough time with prostadadynia symptoms or something, I often get that feeling described in these fora as "golfball up the rectum" or something like that. I was wondering what other members did to alleviate that problem? Sitz baths? medications? exercises?

Anything would be useful to me. Please respond on forum or direct to me in private message if you prefer.

Thanks
Mark

That one is commonly associated with tightness and trigger points in the levator ani and surrounding muscles. It is typically relieved by stretching, physical therapy, and some relaxation of those muscles. Those muscles feel like a hard rock, and that's where the sensation comes from (I think). As I've stated in prior messages, it's one of the symptoms that's easiest to eliminate with proper PT. It's also one of the easier ones for partners to help with, as it's generally located near the exterior and not hard to reach.

as far as what helps me a lot is this stretch, I got it from a user named "tbrush" on this board and modified it slightly. it's similar to "pigeon" yoga position. Put a chair(not a low chair, something moderately high) 2-3 feet behind you or maybe stand in front of the bed facing away from it, put your right leg behind you on the chair, now twist BOTH your ankles to the left if its your right leg, and to the right if it's your left leg and keep them like that. try to feel your upper butt and perineum muscles stretch..concentrate on how those muscles are feeling. this stretch works great for me against the golf ball feeling. even better with shoes on so my toes dont hurt.

OK, too lazy to change my signature, but my sympoms have improved significantly, some went away competely. Old sig below.

Age: 27 | Onset Age: 23 | Symptoms: differ from year to year, anal/buttocks pain(especially when moving around/walking), burning when pee every once in a while, muscle tightness after peeing, sometimes but rarely burning after,, but no urgency , i pee about 4-5 times a day. Stomach bloating, hard to pass gas, occasional sharp pain in right side lower abs.

Helped By: alcohol(maybe i am wrong about this one,, helps some symtoms, possibly makes other symptoms worse), water, Beer always cures urethra pains/burning.
| Worsened By: showers, defecation, massage?, stress, winter, early spring, Snapple diet iced tea?.

Makes no difference: sitting(try putting something under back legs of your chair to tilt it slightly), masturbation(2-3 times a day usually),(update, now down to 1-2 times a day), used to ride bike without a seat on for 4 hours some days 3-4 days a week- no problem, spicy foods - no problem, 3-4 cups of black tea a day- no problem
