I think were designed this way Richard. I believe that with our personalities you can either get a lot of passion, depth, fullfillment fro life or a lot of anxiety, stress and emotional pain.
I know what you mean (although that incident with your child is obviously a v scary moment). The last few months I've been working on my new house with my brother & every time I have I've had pain - yet ivebeen pain free at work. My job aint that stressful but weird nevertheless. I have since realized (with the help of Byron Katie) that ever since uni days I've always paniced about having my own place & being settled down - I hate any thought of being trapped (like most blokes!!). I think I have major barriers I'm not aware of against this house move 7 thats why pin goes wild!
How are you getting on with Byron Katie's work?
Positive stuff mainly

Still getting on well with it - it's certainly made me look at things differently and I do feel more chilled out and less bothered by things (and ignoring those things that aren't my business!).

Yep same. its a great book. Applying the work on a daily basis isn't easy but if you can live constantly in themoment even pain doent matter as much. As I say not easy!

Thats a good example, Scotsman (sorry about the scare.)
The good news is that in the long run, you can minimize the effect by learning to calm down quicker. ALl of that relaxation practice comes in handy at that point. How are you doing today, Scotsman?

This is not medical advice, and I am NOT a doctor of medicine or a related field.
* Age:33 Onset: February 2004.
* 99.9% IMPROVEMENT in 2.5 Years with the first year being the really hard part
* Current Symptoms: Mild irritation of perineal muscles on occasion. Relieved for days at a time by a specific stretch (see below).
* Initial Symptoms: Terrible penile, urethral, rectal, and perineal burning/aching with addition afferent sensations.
* Current Treatments: Deep stretching of the legs and pelvis. Most effective: Deep psoas and levitar ani stretch using the first phase of the "pigeon pose" from Yoga. When a deep pulling is felt in the middle of the pelvis next to the upper rectum, symptoms are completely alleviated for several days.
* Past Treatments Hyperprotection of the perineum for 1.7 years, Walking, Rectal biofeedback, Stanford/Wise-Anderson Protocol, Conditioned deep relaxation practice, Men's Multi-Vitamin and an Extra B-complex pill, all seemed to help.

The flare was aware by the next day (after a couple heavy physio sessions).
