New stretch

Post by joehansen12 »

This is a new stretch that I learnt from my PT today. Its supposed to stretch the piriformis muscle. It felt quite good. This was my first PT visit in 3 months.

1. Sit STRAIGHT on a comfortable chair.
2. Bring the left leg up and place it on the chair on the right side of the right leg.
3. Now pull the left leg towards your right arm pit.
4. Hold it for 30 seconds and repeat the same with the right leg.

Please make sure that you don't slouch while doing this. :)

HTH,
Joe

Try this one, take a very deep breath, now maker sure your legs are about 7 inch apart, face one leg toes facing opposite one wall, other toes facing forward, look at something and align your palm out 45 degress, now with your other palm, stretch your spine out and down to the arch of your foot and hold it for 20 counts. breathe out and repeat for your other side of your body stretching toward the same thing you were looking at. Now you have just aligned your spine and corrected your psoture for the rest of the day
