I've been taking these two in quantities of 2mg each 3 times a day for the past 2 weeks, and my pelvic floor muscle spasm (which I've had permanently for years) has completely subsided for 2-3 hours after taking it.
It has the same effect as Ibuprofen in that it prevents synthesis of inflammatory prostaglandin e2.
It works by increasing prostaglandin e-1 (from the Borage Oil), and prostaglandin e-3 (from the Cod Liver Oil) which actively compete for the receptor sites on the COX enzyme - the same enzyme which Arachidonic Acid (contained in meat) binds to to convert to prostaglandin e-2. In this way, it prevents the e-2 synthesis, thereby reducing inflammation.
For me, this has been very powerful.

Age: 29 | Onset Age: 26 | Symptoms: initially severe burning throughout pelvis - much better; muscles spasms all over region, back pain, chronic IBS (much better) | Helped By: Psychotherapy, SP stretches, swimming, accepting the condition (understanding there is treatment); stress/anxiety management; possibly basic quercetin; valerian root, vit B & calc & magn supplements; gluten avoidance & especially dealing with chronic constipation. | Worsened By: stress / anxiety, too much sex; repressed emotions; personality goodist traits. 80% better
Currently stopped taking for a bit, think it might have been making me go a bit weird in the head. Was taking 8g a day of each for a while!! Became fairly fearful & anxious for no reason.
It definitely works though.
I think I'll go back on it again in a bit, but take 3g like I was recommended this time!

Havent tried quertcin yet, still now to it all and looking into it.
Symptoms still pretty-much as bad as it always had been without the anti-inflammatories lthough consciencously relaxing helps a fair bit.
I heard about Magnesium can help spasm. Have you found it makes any significant difference?
