Update

Post by rider fan »

My pain and muscle spasms have subsided a bit, but now after urinating my bladder seems irritated. If I ignore it, it goes away eventually but it's annoying when trying to sleep.

Still have annoying tingling at tip of penis, especially after stretching my back muscles by looking at the floor, and semen is still not quite normal.

I'm doing about a half-hour of stretching a night (groin, hammies, thigh, back), taking Quercetin, and trying not to stress when I feel discomfort.

Anyway, I was going to try Prelief for this new bladder sensitivity. Does anyone know where I can get it in Canada? I know I can get the active ingredient cheap, but I would like to just try a bottle from the store to see if I helps me before I start having it shipped.

thanks all,
MW

I find valium to be extremely effective for bladder irritation. I guess the irritation has nothing to do with the bladder, but rather the muscles and nerves around the bladder refuses to relax.

Interesting. Thanks for the response. I did some searching on the net and I don't think Health Canada lets this in the country. I guess I'll have to find somewhere to order it on the net.

I thought I solved the problem by not drinking any juice, but tonight my bladder is on fire so no sleep for me. It must have been something I had for dinner because I was fine yesterday and today.

I ordered Prelief, but it takes at least 3 weeks to get to me in this stupid country thanks to Canada customs, if it comes at all. No stores in Canada can sell this.

Is there something else I can do in the meantime? I seee that Prelief is called a urine alkalizer, are there others?

thanks

so you find that your diet makes your bladder burn......does it feel unemptied and full a lot of the times as well?

I can't trace this to any beverages or foods I consume, but rather, when I am not urinating forcefully, thus resulting in incomplete emptying. Thankfully, this is not bothering me nearly as much as it was a few months ago, but I still do get some odd sensations in my bladder at times.
Age:23 | Onset Age:22 | Symptoms:Urinary hesitancy, moderate frequency, urgency and retention, slight perinneum, rectal and leg pain, frequent abdominal/bladder pain. Red/white spotty irritation on penis | Helped By:hot baths or showers, walking and moving around, pain medications | Worsened By: sitting for a long time, holding urine too long. I'd say I'm about 75% better naturally so far.

Alpha-blockers and Elmiron have helped me to diminish the burning symptoms that you describe in your message. I still have some loss of sensitivity, pelvic pain and trigger-points but you may consider these meds as possible options to improve your quality of life a bit (and not necessarily as a "cure.")

Yes, I burning or unemptied feeling. It feels better if I'm able to distract myself, sometimes this makes it go away completely. Sometimes though I have no idea if I 'really' have to go or it just feels that way.

I'm tempted to urinate forcefully, but I'm trying to keep my muscles down there relaxed. I'm not sure if 'forcing' the urine out is a good idea or not.

Thanks. I've read up on these here and it's sure good to know that they may help if I need them. These urinary symptoms just started a few days ago, so I'll see how things progress and hopefully get some Prelief.

Much of my pain seems to have subsided, and now this pops up. How frustrating.

The sudden appearance of burning, which also happens to many men who use any accredited quercetin product or Quercetin, can be a positive sign.

Remember that although this disorder has to do with nerves and muscles in the pelvis, the nerves affected also influence the prostate and cause inflammation in the prostate. The same nerves that are hypertensing the muscles have their endings in the genito-urinary system, and at the ends of those nerves inflammation takes place, by a mechanism discussed on this page https://ucpps.men/chronic-prostatitis-is-a-psychoneuromuscular-condition . So the prostate (or bladder, or urethra, or testicles) can become inflamed, causing small tubes inside the gland to shut off, locking up prostatic secretions that become full of inflammatory cells (WBCs). These secretions are very irritating to the tissues.

Now when you do something to cause the inflammation in the prostate to decrease (such as take any accredited quercetin product or release trigger points) these irritating trapped fluids start making their way into the urethra, and a temporary burning can result, lasting weeks but not months.
Good News! The great ProstaQ is BACK at last! You must try it.

Thanks for your always helpful input. I think I remember this same sensation from my flare years ago, so that would make sense.
