Does anyone have any views on using Magnesium to reduce calcification?

What makes you think calcification is causing your symptoms?
This is not Medical advice - Consult your Doctor!

Age:39. Age at onset:31. Symptoms prior to treatment: Golf ball in rectum, severe urinary frequency (2-3x/hr; 5-10x/night); weak stream; painful ejaculation; coccygeal pain; tip of penis pain; general pelvic pain on left; testicular pain; supra-pubic pain. Current | Symptoms: Urinary frequency 1x every 2-3 hrs and 1-2 x a night; mild pelvic pain on left hand side (all symptoms still improving!)
Helped by: Trigger point release; avoiding exercise; pelvic floor relaxation; Neurontin decreased bladder sensitivity somewhat. Worsened by: Exercise; frequent ejaculation; ibuprofen irritates bladder. Made no difference: Diet; biofeedback; quercetin; Steroid anti-inflammatories; Elavil.

****UPDATE*** I am now able to sit again at work all day, and can perform moderate aerobic exersise again for the first time in 8 years!!!

Hey! I'm asking the questions!!

OK... thank you for your response, I appreciate it.

I don't really know that the stones (of which there are quite a few) are what's hurting me but I suspect it. Sometimes I get a sort of pricking sensation above my pubic bone and that makes me think that stones are irritating my prostate. Doesn't it stand to reason that these hard objects would hurt the soft tissue of the organ?

I know that some men with stones exhibit no symptoms but is that a cast-iron argument? I'm prepared to believe that I'm just visualising my pain as caused by the stones but I'd still rather be without them.

Do you think the magnesium might have any effect?

No, I don't. Perhaps EDTA could help. Nanobaclabs sell it.

Is there a reason you don't think it would work? I've tried EDTA..

Yea. I've got calcium deposits in my shoulders (calcific tendinitis). There was a study done showing the deposits can be dissolved with numerous small injections of EDTA into the area (mesotherapy). I can find no proof that dietary Mg will do anything.

I know that when my wife began taking Mag everyday, she stopped having kidney stones.

I am not sure that is what has prevented it, but you would never convince her otherwise.

I don't really understand why dietary magnesium wouldn't work unless it's too low a dose.
