This may be slightly off topic, but after a recent physical with bloodwork done twice to confirm the results, the doctor mentioned that I have a high level of bilirubin, which is secreted by the liver if I'm correct. Tests for hepatitis were negative. About a week or so before the first test I started taking neurontin, which I mentioned but the doctor couldn't say whether or not that was the cause, but it does seem likely to me. So now the gastroenterologist wants to have a look.
I was also curious, could this have anything to do with just dealing with the chronic stress of CPPS? I came across a study that found that high bilirubin in urine could be a marker of psychological stress.

That's very interesting, because when my CP/CPPS was at its very worst in 1991, my face went yellow and people commented on it. Even the whites of my eyes darkened a little. Fascinating that you post this ...

Bilirubin
Just got a blood test done and I have high bilirubin too.
Bilirubin 76 (above normal)
Albumin 54 (under normal)
That is explaining why my urine was more yellow since I got "prostatitis".
Webslave: That would be interresting to create a database with people results (blood/urine tests) to create our own averages. Ex: 75% of the people filling the blood form on this forum have hight cholesterol. Only the forum members would be able to post.
I'll try to get more info on high bilirubin.

Not sure what bulirubin is, but I know when I first started gettin chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome symptoms my doctor commented that my liver values were very bad, and he wanted to see me back in 30 days, after having no alcohol or anything, to test them again becuase he was "really worried."
Age 21.. | Symptoms: Extreme discomfort in bladder, and lower abdomen.. To the point that I can't sit still, and sleep, can't do anything.. The only that will help is getting into the bath... Urinary frequency, Urinary hesitancy, sometimes taking a few minutes to get just a little bit out.. Sometimes lower back pain when I lay down at night.. Never have the golf ball feeling everybody talks about, and never have a problem sitting down.. Helps: Hot baths, Xanax (but makes me extremely tired), stretching (it seems like only sometimes), pain killers (ex: Percocet, but if I take them, they end up making me worse the next days following, probably due to the urinary retention they cause).. Makes worse: Stress is the main main thing, caffeine and spicy foods too, but not really a whole whole lot.. only a moderate amount..
