Hey...sorry but I'm completely new to this. Here's my deal:
I'm an 18 year old male btw. A few months ago I started to notice an occasional pain in the perineal area after masturbation. I thought nothing of it, but recently it seems the problem has gotten a little worse. After ejaculating last time, a pain/irritation (not severe) began to develop in the perineum but it gradually moved into the testicles (mainly the back part of the sac) and occasionally the tip of the penis. It remained in the testicular area for several hours. Aside from that, I recently have noticed dry skin on the tip of the penis (not on the foreskin) but I'm almost positive that that is a whoel other issue concerning irritation from soap. And lately, I'm not sure if this is really accurate but it seems my erections MAY not be as strong as perhaps one year ago. I have not noticed problems with urination, except perhaps a slightly weaker...what's it called...flow. My main concern is the irritation/discomfort in the testes (which is not severe, but I dont know whether this condition will change or not). Basically, my concern is Prostatitis. I looked it up on the internet today, and some of the symptoms which I have mentioned seem to be common in this case. I'm just worried, because I dont really know what the next step is. Do I have it? Should I see a urologist?
Also, I just have a few questions about the condition (sorry again for my cluelessnes.) I've read that almost 50% of men have Prostatitis at one point in their lives. Does that mean the condition can go away by itself? Is the condition serious? I guess these are typical concerns...but my nature is to worry about anything and everything, so I would really appreciate any help from you guys!
Thanks,
Gene

Hey Gene,
I would go to a urologist if I were you. Only then can you get a firm diagnosis. If you do indeed have chronic prostatitis, stick close to this board. I came down with prostatitis just before my 19th birthday (about 6 months ago now), and this page has been a huge help to me. I'd be happy to share any info that could help you out. All the best.

Classic chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome symptom.son gofish wrote:After ejaculating last time, a pain/irritation (not severe) began to develop
Penis rash is not unknown in CPPS.dry skin on the tip of the penis
Common in CPPS.my erections MAY not be as strong
Maybe, or maybe your symptoms are within the normal range.Do I have it?
Can't say, but in your shoes I wouldn't.Should I see a urologist?
The 50% figure is not accurate as far as chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome goes. Real incidence ranges from 1-8% depending on whom you believe. chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome can simply disappear, but that's not so common. More common is a waxing and waning course. In some men it can be serious in that it can be debilitating, ruining work and marriage, or it can be mild, just an annoyance.I've read that almost 50% of men have Prostatitis at one point in their lives. Does that mean the condition can go away by itself? Is the condition serious?
In your shoes I'd start a course of Algonot or any accredited quercetin product (see links in my signature below), just to head off trouble.

Thanks for the respone!
Well I was assuming that is what I'd have to do. I suppose I will...
I'm just concerned about the condition now. I mean...can it go away by itself? If so, in how long on average? Is it serious?
Sorry I'm being so jumpy about this, but I'm just worried. I recently got over a whole other problem related to the genital area which I was kind of happy about (that's a whole other story) and now I'm kind of down again...
EDIT> Thanks you to the webmaster as well..but you recommend NOT seeing a urologist? What then?
Is it because urologists give unclear answers?
Well I COULD go about the any accredited quercetin product pills but...I'm not really fulyl independent from my parents, so I would somehow have to explain it to them...And they would probably tell me I'm imagining things..or they would settle for a urologist...

Unless you have a severe pain syndrome or frank infection (fever, discharge), I think your money is better spent on enhancing prostate health with the products I recommend.you recommend NOT seeing a urologist? What then?

The very best uros would tell you the same I as I am telling you at this point. If phytotherapy fails, then see a uro.son gofish wrote:Well I COULD go about the any accredited quercetin product pills but...I'm not really fulyl independent from my parents, so I would somehow have to explain it to them...And they would probably tell me I'm imagining things..or they would settle for a urologist...

Well ok, but as I mentioned, I would first have to convince my parents that I have a problem before getting the pills. And they would probably make me see a doctor first...Do you think the doc would give incorrect info though? Because that's never good...
As for my other problem. Don't know if you've heard of it. They like to call it Traumatic Masturbatory Syndrome. It's just what they call it when a male gets used to masturbating by using an unecessary amount of force, ie: rubbing against a matress, chair, weird-stuff, usually in a prone position
Basically, the problem that leads to is some loss of sensitivity in the penis, and the fact that it makes it so much harder to get stimulation through normal sexual activity...as in with a partner. Oral, manual stimulation and sex are very different from TMS so usually a person who is used to TMS cannot feel anything from them. Yeah it sounds kinda like b.s. But its true to an extent. Here's a link: http://tms4.bravepages.com/
Well I just got accustomed to the normal form of masturbation recently, and I'm getting used to the "normal" stuff.
And now I think I may have another problem down there...and thus, I'm here.
P.S. Another 2 questions I have are:
1. Does CP develop? Because now, I only get pains/irritation after ejaculation and they're not severe. Can the condition worsen? Do all the cases start out "mild" like mine?
2. ummmm....I dono. Oh yeah, when I sit in the same chair for over an hour and a half, I tend to get uncomfortabe down there.
So are these early symptoms (if thats indeed what they are) going to worsen?

Tell them it's cheaper than a uroson gofish wrote:first have to convince my parents that I have a problem before getting the pills.
Unfortunately, there is a good chance you would get incorrect info from a family doc or average uro. You'd probably get antibioticsAnd they would probably make me see a doctor first...Do you think the doc would give incorrect info though?
This could be the cause of all your problems. A trauma to this area of the body can result in a neurological or autoimmune syndrome (research ongoing). This is not a diagnosis, mind you!Traumatic Macsturbatory Syndrome.(snip)
Yes, it can develop, but not always. No, not all cases start out mild.Does CP develop? Because now, I only get pains/irritation after ejaculation and they're not severe. Can the condition worsen? Do all the cases start out "mild" like mine?
Classic.when I sit in the same chair for over an hour and a half, I tend to get uncomfortabe down there.
I'd be guessing.are these early symptoms going to worsen?

Thanks. Well I doubt its the TMS thing I told you about. I think they take the term 'traumatic' a bit too far there. I don't think there was any long term damage done there, in my case.
And basically you're saying that by far, any accredited quercetin product is better than any anti-biotic they'll try to give you? Also, another thing I read up on...(and excuse the spelling) Epidyditimis. They said its an infection of the testicular area and can cause pain there, so I was wondering if that might be it. However, I dont think it is. Btw, should I try to avoid masturbation from now on? Or just really cut down to once/twice a week?
Lastly, I know this is a stupid question...but in general, should I be worried?

I have no recommendations about sexual activity. And I can't really offer a prognosis.

Difficult to comment on that on the internet but remember that to say this IS CPPS, you need to rule everything else out.son gofish wrote:Hey...sorry but I'm completely new to this. Here's my deal:

There have been cases where it's not only the soap but something else as well. Two ideas (again, not medical advice, just a reason to see a dermatologist): 1) could be a manifestationof neurogenic inflammation OR 2) balanitis xerotica obliterans (an autoimmune condition which sometimes occurs together with CPPS)Aside from that, I recently have noticed dry skin on the tip of the penis (not on the foreskin) but I'm almost positive that that is a whoel other issue concerning irritation from soap.
