I have found interesting techniques on the web that I thought I should share. It is probably easier to list the web addresses. However, it appears that both Dr. Lu in Xi'an, China and Dr. Guskov in Moscow, Russia use similar "Unblocking" techniques to cure prostatitis. They have gone beyond prostate massage digitally and use machines and special medicines to cure prostatitis. Both Doctors boast a 97% cure rate. I have read both sites and their treatments make sense. I don't feel like going to China or Russia. Can we bring this home guys?
Both sites are great - Dr. Guskov is more specific:

Re: Unblocking the Prostate
There are some people who are trying to bring one of those devices to the US. Myself, I have seen two people that have been to those places and both had autoimmune prostatitis triggred by the interventions.Prostateblues1 wrote: Can we bring this home guys?
This communication provides general information, and is not a substitute for face-to-face medical care. A doctor-patient relationship should not be assumed by the reader.

I have heard no good things about either of these doctors, in all the years they've been around.
Patients need to be aware that this disease/syndrome has attracted many quacks with unproven "cures".
Extreme caution is advised. Do not travel long distances for treatment!

That sentence doesn't make much sense to me. Can you clarify? Also, I said I don't intend to go to China or Russia. Don't these treatments deserve some research though? If you read the sites, they do make some sense. Maybe we haven't heard of them because they are in such remote regions of the world. I have to admit Western doctors are sceptical, but we have no cure for prostatitis. We may have to look to unconventional treatments for help. No? The thing that should propell research in prostatitis is that we will do anything to get rid of this. I would join a study to test these treatments. If it works, great, if not, I'm back to constant pain.[/quote]yself, I have seen two people that have been to those places and both had autoimmune prostatitis triggred by the interventions.

The people you speak of have all the hallmarks of quackery as per most definitions (claiming 100% cures, no published studies, secret formulae etc).

I digress. Secret techniques are not posted on web sites to be viewed internationally. Also a Chinese or Russian doctor may not ever have their publications seen in America or Europe.

None of the journals Guskov lists are peer-reviewed, internationally recognized journals. In fact, seeing that page just reinforces my misgivings.
As to your statement that a website is evidence of a lack of quackery, you couldn't be more wrong.
