Painful sitting – solution?

Post by Graduate »

Can anyone recommend a cushion to ease pelvic pains while sitting?

I've invested in a donut ring cushion; it doesn't do me much good. I've also tried a cut out cushion to relieve pressure on the boney bits (ischial tuberosities) -- for more info see - http://www.putnams.co.uk/pressure_relief.htm However, yet again I might get a few minutes of relief but the perineum, sitting bone, groin, and pubic bone pain / discomfort always comes back.

I've seen that Mark the webslave administrator recommends the "˜pelvis- friendly cushion'. Mark is it still helping you and do you think it's wide enough to relieve Ischial bursitis? Has anyone else managed to find an effective pain management solution to the sitting problem associated with CPPS?

Thanks in advance for your comments :-D .

I don't have any sitting pain anymore (hey, one can get over CPPS!!), so others may wish to comment on this. Some people swear by their cushions ("just right", as Goldilocks said), others find them too hard/soft.
Good News! The great ProstaQ is BACK at last! You must try it.

I use a tempurpedic pad at work. The day I bought it, I took a razorblade and cut a slit out of the middle (kind of almond shaped) to reduce pressure on my perineum. This has helped a lot. If I sit on my couch at home for an extended period, my butt muscles will actually fall asleep on me. I've found that switching positions as well as getting up and moving around a little helps keep sitting discomfort to a minimum. Also, If I'm alone on the couch, I lie down with a pillow behind me and a pillow under my knees. For some reason, a pillow under my knees helps my pelvic area to relax.
