I CONFESS ALREADY!!!
I CONFESS ALREADY!!!
Ok any feedback is greatly appreciated as I am need to 1. confess to someone how all this came about and 2. Find out if anyone has or had heard of anyone having the same pain as I have.
How it happened:
Ok I confess, I'm a male, happily married. I will NOT blame this on my wife but she has never really been big on sex. Me on the other hand, I always want sex even on my worst symptom days. So long before this pain happened I got into the habit of downloading porn on the internet every night for hours and of course masturbating. My wife doesn't know about this and I'm very ashamed of it. In February of 2003 I was doing my usual surfing of adult sites for about 2 hours, masturbated (I remember my bladder was full at the time if it matters) and went to bed. No sooner than I layed down I began to feel extreme discomfort in my right testicle. After wrestling with it for an hour or so I got up and only half/slept in my recliner down in the living room. The next morning I couldn't take the pain, burst into tears and my wife took me to the ER.
The ER doc gave me vicodin and Cipro and referred me to a urologist.
The urologist diagnosed me with epiditimytis. An infection of the epidimis gland in back of the testicle. He extended my Cipro to 28 days and told me to sit on ice packs and wear a jock for support. 28 days later I was back in his office in tears. He checked me again and gave me another round of Cipro. I left discouraged and went to another doctor like so many of you. Since then I've been to 5 doctors, 2 GPs and 3 Uros. I've had 7 rounds of Cipro and 3 doxycycline. I was convinced this was some kind of punishment from God for masturbating behind my wife's back. But 2 YEARS!?!?! No, God don't work like that.
Finally, I found this web site and have been reading through it for about a week. I have all the same pains and frustrations as so many of you and I am going to try some of the exercizes and herbals mentioned here. But I have to know has ANYONE had the pain in the testicles that I have. On the bad days it feels like some sick bast... hammered a nail right through it and it just stays like that for weeks. Every other day they just generally ache and the frustration is maddening! Please tell me I'm not the only one.
Thanks for understanding.

Age: 41. Symptoms: Testicular Pain, Perineum, Erectile Dysfunction, Premature Ejaculation, Frequency and Dribbling. Helped by: Lorazepam for anxiety, Ultram or Vicodin (if I can get it) for pain, Athletic Supporter (Jock). Makes worse: Hot bathes or showers or anything that causes my testes to hang too low. If I ejaculate I can count on 3 days of steady pain to follow.

It has nothing to do with God or guilt, but may have something to do with overlong and secretive sessions at the PC staring at persons of the female persuasion in states of undress, while maintaining a high degree of pelvic turgidity and tension. No published science to prove that, but it seems like a sensible supposition.

Overmasturbation/sex was probably a contributing factor to you being inflicted with this. You may seriously consider reducing your sexual habits. If you're like many here, sex/masturbation will further inflame your condition. Also, you might do some research on the effects/success of Cipro. By the way, did your doctor find a bacterial culprit for your condition? If not, why are you on an anti-biotic? I was on Cipro for 5 months. It did nothing for me except give me false hope.
Even so. Don't worry. This is a condition that can be controlled and even eliminated. But you have to do some research. I believe pelvic pain is due to a lack of circulation and a lack of oxygen in the pelvic muscles. An ultra-tense, ultra-tight pelvic region will eventually make something give. Pain soon results.
Good luck, Tom

First off, many people on this board are in the same boat as you. Whether it be from too much pelvic tension from long periods of masturbation, or extreme workouts, or extreme tension and anxiety - guilt is something we all live with because we all feel like we caused this at one time or another. But there's nothing you can do about it now. You just need to get better.
I've had pain like yours (still do, although not as bad), and it can absolutely be caused by muscle tension and trigger points in the pelvic region. The solution is to re-invigorate these muscles through stretching, some therapy, and some relaxation. Things WILL get better, but you will have to be dilligent about things, and keep up your self-managed healing. You will have to cut back on activities that cause "strain" until your condition has improved somewhat. But you will probably never be able to do hours of internet surfing and remain symptom-free.

many have blamed their chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome on the long masturbation sessions, especially when sitting in Front of a PC. I think men have only recently engaged in such activity, cause I would imagine masturbation before Internet was not done on some chair while tensing the back and the pelvic muscles waiting for more pictures to download...
So It might be possible that our bodies are not made for such activity.
However you cannot blame this on yourself, as millions of people are doing this everyday.. You might be another fellow whose pelvis is vulnerable.
If guilt and stress did not started your problem ( together with the position during masturbation) they are at least NOT HELPFUL AT ALL for the moment.
I think I wasted long time in the beginning ( of the oneset of symptoms) worrying and tensing those muscles. You have a lot of infromation on this forum to teach yourself how to relax those muscles, and you will hopefully get good results.

One small tip is that when you do ejaculate then just when you're leading up to and during orgasm then try and relax your whole pelvic floor (i.e. avoid the tense up, shoot hard/deep reflex). This can significantly reduce post orgasm flair-ups.
With regards to frequency of ejaculation it's down to finding what's right for your body. For me a couple times a week seems to be the right balance (not too much to exacerbate symptoms but I also found I was getting problems leaving it too long, e.g. prostate leakage, etc).

Since you mentioned God and guilt, let my just suggest that what I also find helpful in this battle with chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome is prayer. Prayer helps with anxiety by giving your problems over to God. It also helps you relax and put your problems in greater perspective. Jesus said in the gospels to come to him all who are bearing heavy burdens and he will offer rest. I pray for healing sometimes, but most of all prayer gives me the perspective needed to press on and stay emotionaly healthy.
Age: 40 Symptoms for seven years; Symptoms include: subrapubic & genital discomfort; perrenial pain, feeling like groin is swollen, problems with urinary frequency are resolved; helped by: abdominal stretching, Theracane work on abdomen, light exercise (nordic track); worsened by: sitting and office work
Thank you guys for your empathetic responses. It's nice to know there are other ppl going through this and have gotten results. I just ordered my first bottle of any accredited quercetin product (can I say that?) and last night I did some Kegel Exercizes for the pelvic floor muscles.
I'm not taking antibiotics anymore but I still have to wear a jock everyday. I've noticed on warm days or after coming out of the bath (hot sits) when my testicles are hanging far away from my body the pain is more severe. Anyone else?
Aside from that I also have frequency, always a large yellow stain in my underwear (very embarrassing). Often feels like I'm sitting on a golf ball.
Pain in the left vas def? It starts from the top left part of my abdomen and shoots down in a straight line toward my testes. I almost always wake up with a strong erection because I have to urinate and that is the last I see of it. After that my penis is like a wet noodle and is actually much smalle in length and width. As if its retreated up inside. Anyone else?

Definitely get the penis inside me thing - one of the worst symptoms for me 'cause while I can do a good job of hiding pain and anxiety this one has caused me no end of embarrassment in the locker room.
I think I probably had this before I got any pain though and I wonder if it is more of a cause of the pelvic pain rather than a symptom.
For example I've noticed it is worst in times of extreme anxiety or during panic attacks which I suffered from before pelvic pain set in. Just an outward sign that your pelvis is getting tensed into a right knot.
Also at the risk of my wife reading this I used to do the old wanking off to the PC thing, especially round about the time of puberty. I've beaten myself up for years feeling guilty, ashamed and thinking that I had caused damage to myself.
Now though I see that also as a symptom of the anxiety and social problems that I suffered from and while not helping the pelvic situation I don't consider it causal.
I see from your signature that you also have some anxiety issues and from personal experience sorting this out has been the key to starting on a road to recovery.
I achieved this through a brief spell on medication (SSRI) and seeing a psychologist with the effect on me so profound that I am convinced had I done it when I was 16 I wouldn't be here writing this now.
So you're in the right place mate, do the reading (other things that have helped me are trigger-point therapy, relaxation and wheat elimination) and start to realise that the worst days of this are behind you, you are no longer helpless to standby as it takes over you.

I think you need to kick your therapy into high gear before things get much worse. Do consistent stretching, self-massage, and relaxation. There are lots of posts on these topics (many that I've recently written).
And BTW, Kegels can exacerbate many people's symptoms if they strain any trigger points. They are generally not recommended. You want to loosen muscles, not contract them.

But many things let me think that what I have ( and many people here maybe) is a Dysfunction in the Pelvic muscles. It is not that they are alwyas tense, and yeah I can get to relax them, but when they tense, they cannot go back to a relaxed state. I have experienced this scientifically with my PT.
This still imply that PT + Stretching + Paradoxical Relaxation is the way to go, but I feel that there should be something more to it. Some way to strengthen those muscles...
some people ,like me, are really sensitive to a one time contraction of one of the pelvic muscle . One Kegel is enough to set my pelvis on fire for three days. You want to loosen muscles, not contract them.

I think the muscles can be strengthened, but they have to be ready for strengthening first. If you have trigger points or painfully taut muscles, strengthening them may cause more pain than it helps. Also, a lot of the pelvic muscles can be adequately strengthened by living your normal life without any extra help (this is true for back muscles in some cases too).

Urinate in the stall in public restrooms and use toilet paper to dab the tip of the penis for a minute or two after peeing to absorb the post-void dribbling.iHurt wrote:Aside from that I also have frequency, always a large yellow stain in my underwear (very embarrassing).

Ihurt, Read your post even thuoght you wrote it five months ago and reading what other people said on it as well really hit home for me because I was having the same guilty feelinhgs just the other day. The reason for this guilty was just the other day I had a bad attack of epiditimytis pain but only lasted for a few hrs. IN Jan of 2002 a full year before this problem started I had a bad attack of pain in the testicles right side in the back of testicles and left front swelling. All most the same course happened to me ER then urologist who said what it was and the same course of antibotics. My problem went away after a month after baths and wearing a jock strap it got better. One year later Jan of 2003 is when chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome started for me 2 years and 9 months later I am still with my share of problems. Even though I am doing therapy and other things to help and meds as well has gotten better.
The point I am tring to make is in my early teens until I was 22 and also a year after the first attack of epiditimytis for about a good 7 yrs straight I did the same type of activity by looking at porn tapes for hrs at a time and then masterbating as well as prolonged erections and prolonged masterbation sessions thinking this has a good feeling and this will help me in going longer with sex with the girls it might of helped in the short run but in the long run no way. I have a feeling now and for some time now that this problem has started that this activity has helped me get here if not was the cause of the hell I have been in the past 2 and a half years. I do not think I will ever get past the regret of doing this and thinking that this problem was started by doing this harmful activity. I often think if I could only go back to when I started this habit in my early teens and change what I did I would in a heart bet I have had this though many times over the past few years and it has at times got me down as well if I only knew I was causing problems by doing this back then maybe I would not be here now but history is 20/20 right.
Sorry to have talked a lot but this post hit home what I was feeling from time to time over the past few years.

ZR, that's an honest assessment, and you should be applauded for be honesty. BUT as you say, it doesn't really matter now. If you got yourself into this condition due to excessive "activity", then your problem is most likely due to trigger points and chronic muscle tension, and THAT is a good sign. The more likely you over-did it, the less likely you have some chronic nerve problem, or gluten-intolerance, or any other condition that could be causing you pain. So, in other words, therapy, stretching, massage, and relaxation will get you back to normal one of these days!
