Isn't a boggy prostate a trademark of bacterial prostatitis
I have a boggy prostate now but I didn't during he first three months of exams. Maybe the muscle tension has led to urine reflux causeing infalmmation. anyone else think inflammtion is a symptom of chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome and not a cause of pain?

**This is not medical advice**. From what three very good prostatitis specialists told me, the reflux is *usually* caused by heavy lifting with a full bladder. That, of course can cause inflammation. Inflammation is one of many symptoms of CPPS, but we all seem to differ a bit in what we have and don't have. I, for example had severe dysuria and a lot of discharge with this most recent bout. For the discharge, I had to get on an antibiotic - there was no way around it. No infection was found, though...so it gets to be a real brain teaser. Because my prostate was so inflamed, my semen was a rusty-brown color as well. Everything is back to normal now except the @#$%ING burning urinations. I'd highly recommend getting the latest edition (3rd) of "A Headache In The Pelvis" as well as making sure your urologist checks to make certain you do not have an infection.VBBronco wrote:I have a boggy prostate now but I didn't during he first three months of exams. No, of course not. Men with nonbacterial prostatitis commonly have boggy prostates.VBBronco wrote:Isn't a boggy prostate a trademark of bacterial prostatitis
