getting some success with trigger point release

Post by uksufferer2 »

I have been getting trigger point release from a phyio for 2 months now and have also been taking ultrum.

i'd say I'm 65% better and now feel I can control my symptoms !

thanks to everyone for pointing me in the right direction.

i'll post more when I'm nearer 100% ... bit scared about jumping the gun in term of being cured ... but I'm on the right track.

Thanks to scotsman!

bit dissapointed that the forums are locked :(

I now have seriously got somewhere ... I dont bother with the trigger point release anymore.
mainly a regime of making sure I relax, I find it really key to not tighten up straight after peeing ... I now realise I had got into a habit of clenching to stop peeing.

I do regular stretching ..... the splits with my knees bent and sitting with my feet together.

really think muscular problems are/were my problem.

That is great news for sure !

You know I have really been doing a lot of research on trigger points lately and it is just amazing how many pain related problems they can cause and the Medical community misdiagnoses things over and over again. I have befriended a trigger point massage therapist lately (although he does not do intrapelvic work) and he has told me numerous stories about people with trigger points in all different parts of their bodies and how they got misdiagnosed by the Doctors. For example one lady had severe pain in her low back for years and was actually scheduled for a spinal fusion surgery. In her last ditch effort out of fear she tried the trigger point massage and after a few sessions she reported that she felt about 50% better. Turns out all she had was some serious trigger points in her Quadratus Lumborium muscles in her low back. Needless to say she cancelled the surgery. I tell this story because I also have some TP's in my QL muscle but with the massage they always feel better.

It just baffles my mind how much suffering is going on in the world because the medical community is reluctant to accept trigger points. The irony is that trigger points were discovered by an MD (Janet Travell).
It also strikes me as odd that there is no Medical specialty for muscle tissue, although there is for every organ and gland. I guess a Cardiologist is the closest medical specialty to a muscle doctor--What prompted Janet Travell to investigate the trigger points was that many of her patients had chest pain but nothing wrong with their hearts--turns out most of them had trigger points that were causing.
