Best Progressive Relaxation CDs

Post by CppsDad »

Anyone have opinions on what the best progressive relaxation CDs are? The bookstore has a lot of relaxation CDs on the shelves, but I want the ones that work best for keeping the muscles relaxed, and don't want just some nature sounds that sound neat.

Are they guided relaxation CDs or just music? What types of CDs do you guys use? I find my mind drifts if I'm not following directions.

This one works for me: Experience Yoga Nidra: Guided deep relaxation

I've tried tons of them and the Dr Thomson Theta ones are also pretty good - but they are music only. The Yoga Nidra one has spoken directions.

The main thing with relaxation CD's is to do them every day and you won't see big differences for a few months. Saying that though whilst doing them and for around 30 mins afterwards my pain levels are significantly reduced.

Thanks. I think once I get the skills down, I can probably use instrumental or "music only" relaxation CDs. But at first I want to have instructions to follow that teach me how to relax appropriately.
