DISCHARGE WITH PAINNN

Post by niceguy544 »

Hi, I'm a 21 year old male and I'm glad I've found this site. This is my first post. I've have problems for about a year and seen several doctors and uros. I've been diagnosed as having chronic inflamation and non-bacteria infectious prostatitis by another. and some have no clue. I think maybe chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome or non-bacteria infection. I have pain in my penile and urethra region(burning) like right now. but most of my pain comes from after I work out. I am in excellent shape and always have been. but after I work out strenously, I usually have to defacate and then I have a lot of discharge with brutal pain and very very frequent urination that lasts for about 45 m to 2 hours. this cripples me almost every night. and advice or help? I've been on numerous and numerous amounts of anti-biotics and even when I dont work out I get a little discharge. I've had numerous amounts of different tests but never nothing. I'm currently on Cipro. I dont want to stop working out. but sometimes I'm in so much pain I want to cry. any help

Read this post (the one right above yours). It has a lot of the same issues as yours:

viewtopic.php?t=2345

You'll always want to rule out medical problems for your pain. But if you've ruled them out and still have trouble, it's time to consider other options.

If you do, in fact, have chronic muscle tension, and you have shortened muscles, than working out can strain those muscles. I've had to give up tennis for a little while because I kept pulling muscles in my levator ani and causing flare-ups. This is just temporary though - as soon as I can rehab those muscles and lengthen them, I'll be back on the court.

I don't know if you are working out for muscle mass or just staying in shape, but if you are causing flare-ups from aggravating irritated muscles, you might want to consider a less strenous workout such as a fast walk, swimming, etc... But knowing which muscles are causing you problems would probably help in deciding how to adjust your workout.

But don't assume adjusting your workout is going to solve your problems. You might avoid aggravating your condition, but you will want to make sure you address the source of your problem, and not just the results.

thanks. yeah, I'm trying to get to the root of the problem. but, even I'm not sure whats going on most of the time. I dont see why I have it so young and I dont hear from too many other people about painful discharge almost everynight. oh well. I think its the stool pushing on my prostate and the workouts inflame it. and warms baths do help with the psin. but, I'm so glad I found this site. I felt I was in the dark for awhile seeing several doctors. and my first urologist tried to tell me all of my problems were psychosamtic. I was really frustrated, but this place gives me resources. take care
thank you

CPPS does have a lot of psychosamtic characteristics. The chronic tensing of the muscles is related in part to our emotional responses to stress. Those of us with chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome tend towards anxiety and tension related problems. The psychological aspect of chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome is important to know and understand, as you'll want to retrain your responses to stress to avoid tensing your pelvic muscles.

As far as your age, there are many others like you who are young and experiencing these types of problems. I'm pretty sure the first time I had symptoms of chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome was when I was 25. I'm 34 now, and my more serious symptoms all started when I was 29. Like you, I didn't think my body could fail me so early in life. But as I've said to others on the board, I try to look at this in a positive light. Ignoring stress and tension in our bodies is toxic. Sure, perhaps I could be like others and not be affected by the high stress I put myself under. But when they are suffering from high blood pressure and heart attacks, I'll be calm and in control of my life. I never know that all the stress of tension I had in college and work was affecting me until I started having problems. So now I am learning to look at things differently, relax during the day, and be in control of my emotions. It's not easy, but it will pay off. So don't let youth hold you back from doing what you need to do to lead a healthy life and recover from this problem.

i can help clarify on the discharge but not the pain.

Here is my story, If you would like more insight..
viewtopic.php?t=2308&highlight=

Basically I've seen some discharge after working out hard too, especially after a bunch of sit ups. I am not sure which muscle, but the muscles definitely exercise the prostate and presto, you get some fluid that comes out. I have also seen many many many posts of other men who have this, and although not everyone experiences this, it is normal. A lot of men experience this at the end of a urinary stream, or after a bowel movement. It seems as though you have taken a lot of antibiotics, and if it were an infection, you would have knocked it out by now. It could also be related to the rate of your ejaculation, if u dont ejaculate regularly, your prostate gets filled with excess fluid, and the prostate decongests itself. Finally, it can be related to prostatitis, if there is pain. I guess you need to find out if your pain is truely from your prostate or from the muscles around it.

Good Luck

thank you, I appreciate both of your guy's insight and information. :) :-D yeah, I definetly know my problems are not psychosamatic. I think relaxation is the key and I'm doing all I can to stay relaxed and my relatives bought me some mediation cds. and I'm gonna start doing breathing exercises everyday and try Quercetin soon. and not let things or my anger get to me like it did my whole life. yeah, I think that right about how it can be normal for people to have discharge with urination or bowel movement. I notice that sometimes when I get turned on with a hard on for awhile I get pre-ejaculate. I notice that when I was with my girlfriend before having sex about 3-5 times a week my problems were'nt as bad. I was glad. the thing I'm worried about is I have this almost every other day. and sometimes it has been different colors from white to almost brown. and when I have this I think it has something to do with hormones. I think my prostate gets inflamed, my feces applies pressure and then discharge. but, when I get the discharge I get piercing pain all in my urethra and deep in further. it feels like my urethra gets tighter and that something inside of me is being cut off. because then I have to urinate VERY requently( sometimes every few secs or mins) and often for about an hour or so. and I notice if I puch the discharge out or try to push more out it makes my symptoms real worse. I'm really down about this. and with sometimes when I'm just sitting around I have burning sensations of pain in my penis and testicles. I'm not sure where to turn and I dont want to have sexual problems early in life. this has sometimes prevented me from hanging out with my girlfriend. I'm nots sure if this has an effect from about 2 years ago. I was on 4 different cylces of anoblic steroids for 2 years. I noticed since I've been off, my testciles start to strain up to my abdomen with pain the when I run. really painful. I almost feel like I'm gonna through up each time. I've also had several partners and a couple urologists think I contracted an std, then the antibiotics treated it. but, now its still affecting my body. I hope it lessens soon. sorry about the long respeonse...

None of us want to have sexual problems, early OR late in life. We can all sympathize. But you DO have some places you can turn to. Your doctors are probably confused, so you have to get proactive for yourself and not rely on their lack of information.

The more I read your posts, the more it sounds like you have the same condition as most of us here. Relaxation is part of the solution, but it is NOT the whole solution. You probably need to reverse some of the muscle tension that is locked in now, causing you problems when you "push" hard, work out, and probably when you have sex. I think you should try some physical therapy as described in the Stanford/Wise-Anderson Protocol. You need to rehab your pelvic muscles, your abdominals, your groin, and possibly your stomach. Give it a shot, because perhaps you'll be lucky and be pain free after just a few months of therapy.

I don't know if steroids can cause this problem, but I'm guessing that when taking steroids, you were probably working out like a monster and building muscle mass. Perhaps a long period of strenous workouts (2 years) can cause some serious tension and trigger point formation. Not all of the pelvic muscles are easy to strengthen, and they are easy to pull if you put too much strain on them. But I doubt steroids themselves caused this problem.

yeah, thanks for the advice. I appreciate it. yeah, I'll definetly be proactive. I need to. I'm in the military right now and somtimes its difficult to get the proper care especially with something like this. I had to fight to see another doctor. my first urologist said I was fine and sent me away. I was enraged. so, I had to complain to management and she helped get me some new help. I have learned that what they say on this site and others that warm baths (showers with me) helps. it dulls the pain. I'm gonna try some relaxation techniques and possible some therapy. what so I need to do for therapy? do I need to see a therapist? and I'm just curious maybe you would know, whats the difference or is there any from "non-bacteria prostatitis" and "CPPS?"
thanks, take care

There is a list of physical therapists that specialize in the pelvic floor on the https://ucpps.men site (or the pelvicpain.com site), I don't remember which. You'll probably have to do SOME form of physical therapy, but there is a LOT of physical therapy you can do yourself. A large part of my symptoms come from my abdominal region, and so I do stretching and pressure-point massage there almost every day. That's something you can do yourself. It's amazing how much pain I can generate just pushing directly into my abdomen above my pubic bone and below my navel. But start the stretching and basic massages that you can do yourself (even better if you can have someone help you). At some point, you'll want to find a therapist who can assess your internal muscle structure for trigger points internally as well.

I agree with the last poster. Those two terms are the same thing.

You are on the right track. You'll get better soon - but you just got to get started doing the right things.

sounds good. thanks. yeah, I plan on doing self massage techniques in my abdomen everyday and above my groin in the pelvic region. I did a massage the other day in that area during a shower and I could feel stress in that area being lifted. just like with a good back massage. it felt great. I'm hoping the massages and stretching help. I've been off ant-biotics for a week now and my disharge has been in the early afternoons with a bowel movement and not after working out.. Oh well. Merry Christmas to all! I'm going start taking Quercetin at the beginning of the month.

For self massage, you want to be as relaxed as possible (not standing in the shower). And I strongly recommend a Theracane or other massage implement. It really helps you "dig in" without much difficulty. You can't do much just with your hands and still relax. I wouldn't worry so much about your discharge; there's probably nothing wrong with it - the pain is from the pressure on the prostate from your muscles - not the discharge itself. Ditto for the trouble urinating after it - at the point you have discharge and pain, your muscles are locked up tight. And don't forget to do some PT! It's the only way to get those muscles to unwind.

Actually my PT ordered it for me from his supplier. But just searching for Theracane on Google brought up a lot of hits. It is such a cool massage implement that I use it every day, especially on my abdomen. And it's CHEAP compared to the other crap we buy to solve this problem.

I think I'll send off for one - I do work on my abdomen each night as well - and it will save my fingers a bit
