Newbie question : Sensitive navel area /chronic prostatitis

Post by Blue »

Hello all. I am not a doctor nor do I play one on TV but I do have a question that I am unsure if it has been asked before. If it has, and you know of it please point me in its general direction.

My question: I have had prostatitis in the past. A couple times so I imagine it is chronic. I am 32 and each time the doctor puts me on Cippro for a couple of weeks and the symptoms subside. I believe it may be back due to the uncomfortable sensations that follow the same paths that it did before. However, this time I am experiencing sensitivity around my navel area and the feeling of a "pulling" sensation in my urethra. I have been checked for STD's and they are negative. I am not however experiencing the testicular pain as I have in the past or the two stream urination as I have in the past. I urinate regularly without any urgency or heightened occurance. I am wondering if this is indeed prostatitis again or if it has moved up into other areas. Any help out there? :(

they are more than likely trigger points within the abdominal muscles - I have had them in the past with this think and it seems they are back for me too although on the other side.

I got rid of mine by manipulating them as per the Trigger Point Manual

thanks

Trigger Points? Trigger Point Manual? I apologize but I am unfamiliar with either.

I have had the same sensation you are talking about. It is like your belly button is connected to something inside close to your bladder. Here is a great diagram of the pelvic area that was posted earlier.

It looks like the umbilical ligament goes down towards the bladder/pelvic area. I get a pain/pulling under my belly button that feels like its attached to something father down.

After looking at this pdf file it all made sense.

The thought of mine even being touched sends chills down my spine. (or I should say my bladder.) I mentioned that weird symptom to doctors before, and of course they just chuckled like there could be no connection.

I have mentioned this problem to my Doc as well and I kind of get a blank stare. Then he's on to another subject.

I am trying to get a referrel to see a Uro but our area has a weird concept with medicine. All of the doctors here work for the hospitals. If you have an independent doctor he can not have privlages at any hospital unless he works for them.

The problem I am having is I pay for PPO insurance so I can go to any doc I want without a referrel. Not in this town!! I am about to raise hell with the insurance company/doc to find out why am paying for PPO but only get benifits of HMO.
