Re: CPPS is taking my life from me (Brett's Case)

I take it that the valium was important in that + addressing the catastrophic thinking. My flow has improved overall since the SSRI incident, but I still have that hesitancy. Always takes 5 seconds to get a strong stream going.

I also noticed that after swimming I get this urge to pee, and then my ...

Re: CPPS is taking my life from me (Brett's Case)

Brett, I had the SSRI issue too. Poor flow, feeling of hesistancy, that stays with you after one dose. So valium + PT helped? That's good to hear.

I don't think it's the actual drug that did it. That drug caused significant anxiety (typical side effect), causing the pelvis to become clenched by ...

Re: Question about my case (ahmedqman)

I talked with Dr. Wise and he says it's probably neurological windup. SSRIs like Lexapro can be very activating and can rev up the anxiety which can cause things to worsen overnight.

Re: Question about my case (ahmedqman)

So I went to my PT and she said my pelvic floor was completely contracted. She tried stretching the muscles it but it wasn't giving.

This is a bit discouraging.

Re: Question about my case (ahmedqman)

My flow/hesitancy issues tend to wax and wane, and it feels like something is locked up in spasm before I have to go. It's always the worst in the morning.

Me thinks that my chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome just worsened because of the medication causing a day's worth of ...

Re: Question about my case (ahmedqman)

Well I get alarmed by everything, that's just the way anxiety goes. Anyway, I'm learning to calm myself down over these things. I don't want to jinx it, but I'm willing to just consider it an extension of the CPPS, since I've felt this way before (just not in awhile). Why would anything change? It ...

Re: Question about my case (ahmedqman)

I mean there is no way to know precisely, but the above explanations are very plausible. Do you think there's a need to get a fully re-evaluated by a urologist, or should I consider it part of the CPPS?

The thing is, I've certainly felt like this before, just not being a consistent symptom for at ...

Re: Question about my case (ahmedqman)

10 mg. How could one dose literally cause hesitancy for almost two weeks? Maybe it was the straw that broke the camel's back, I had been neglecting physical therapy for awhile.

Gosh I hope it's not a new medical issue that came up. I had flow issues this morning, then they completely resolved after ...

Re: Question about my case (ahmedqman)

Quick question:

I had some anxiety issues and tried Lexapro for a day. It kept me up all night and I threw up, and I had some nasty vomiting and made me feel all anxious and horrible. The next day, I had some urinary hesitancy (it took me like 10-15 seconds to start peeing). I decided to not ...

Re: Question about my case (ahmedqman)

Constipation is definitely an issue, and I feel it is mechanical. I've adjusted the diet side of things, and my stools have definitely bulked up, but I definitely feel that I have to evacuate in parts.

Is there a way to do self internal on the puborectalis without a wand? What squatting position ...

Odd flare

So, this morning, I had some nasty general pain perineum, causing me to want to go to relieve the pain.... had problems starting urination and my stream was super weak and couldn't empty fully.

Then, I have my bowel movement 20 minutes later and wham, stream is completely fine, just some dribbling ...

Back to the urethral issue

My PT today actually felt that point right below the prostate (she wasn't vigorous or anything) and said that the connective tissue in that area felt tight, so she stroked it and massaged it (which could be causing the urethral symptoms). Was this safe? is this normally a problem area in males ...

Re: Question about my case (ahmedqman)

I'm not worried about strictures anymore, because you'd probably have to vigorously do it repeatedly over time to cause lasting trauma. My second question is unrelated to my first. I'm trying to figure out what HITP is talking about when it says prostate pain. Either way, I have some perineal ...

Re: Question about my case (ahmedqman)

So I'm assuming I guess it would have to be very vigorous to cause the damage, not a gentle massage which is what is normally done to release muscles, right?

Thanks.

Also, what do people mean by pain/pressure in the prostate? I can't really figure out if I have this symptom, because I don't know ...
