L'Hermitte's Sign (chin to chest shock/tingling)? Trigger Pt

Post by superuse »

Has anyone had symptoms of L'Hermitte's Sign (an electric type shock down the back or pelvis/perineum into the penis/legs/buttocks when putting their chin to their chest) as a symptom at one time or another?

Part of the shock went down my urethra and into my prostate/rectum. Trigger point work along the back, psoas, abs and especially externally over the prostate seemed to work.

I have had some success with the backnobber (like the Theracane but not as good) and the jacknobber (a 5" plastic jack like kids play with including different sized "knobs" on each end) to sit on for glute work or handheld for abdominal and thigh tps (much stronger than fingers). Also good for lying down and finding glute tps.

Bonnie Pruden was one of the first to popularize tp therapy in the us but don't know if the pelvic work is a good as some (my copy is over 12 years old)

Not a shock, but at times I've noticed tingling at the tip of my penis when I put my chin to my chest. The last time I had this (about a year ago) it went on for a month or so and 10mg of Elavil for a week got rid of it.
Age: 32 | Symptoms: Twingy pain/muscle spasms in groin area (gone), tingling sensation at tip of penis (has resolved as of now), urinary frequency (resolved as of now), thicker/decreased amount of semen (resolved as of now). Makes better: Stretching, Relaxing pelvic muscles, moment to moment relaxation, not sitting with legs crossed, Elavil, quercetin. Makes worse: Sitting, stress, more than one orgasm/day, constipation, manual labour
