I spoke to Dr Wise and he recommended that I do not continue with this PT. It was said in certain context though so do not consider this general advice for someone in my situation.
I have found moment to moment relaxation to be EXTREMELY useful during this flare. Just trying to keep my pelvic floor relaxed during the day has made a big difference. I am still much worse than ever though and progress is very slow.
My PT mentioned that my piriformis muscle is very tight. I can feel this when I do the stretches too. Stretching has become difficult lately because it seems to make the burning in my anus, testicle and inner thigh (all on the left side) worse.
My flexibility is extremely good. I practiced martial arts for many years (until this crap started!!!). I've had to find different stretches to the ones shown in A HEADACHE IN THE PELVIS. Those ones just don't do anything for me. My hip flexion in exceptional. I remember someone getting really grossed out when I was warming up before training. Its a bit freakish I guess.
I don't have any pain in my back or abdomen. I do have a dull ache in the area just above my coccyx. It feels as if my rectum is really tight in that area. This was my main symptom before all this burning crap started. That I could handle. This I can't!!
Any advice would be most welcome
Many thanks
Major flare up after intraprostatic injection (Dr Song)!!
hey man, I had 2 intraprostatic injections in September 2004 and I know exactly how you feel right now. I came out in worse pain than before and had to take a week off work.
I was not amused by the blood in my semen and urine either. That crap lasted for 3 weeks.
And these were no quacks but serious medical professionals in an excellent university hospital.
I too believed in nerve damage but I don't think that's reasonable since prostate cancer patients undergo 10-12 biopsies to obtain cell tissue and if you read the reports they only suffer from transient pain.
I think that if you have an inflamed prostate the worst thing you can do is stick a needle in it. But I learned that the hard way.
Anyway back, then I thought it was worth a shot. Now I'm determined not to have any invasive procedures EVER again.
But it will get better, it took a long time until things went back to normal (if you can call chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome "normal") but hang in there.
Currently I'm doing 4 workouts a week, more than I ever have. I still have chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome but I will not let it rule my life.
Blijven volhouden!

Age: 38 | Onset Age: 27 | Symptoms: scrotal pain, perineal pain, pubic pain, lower abdominal pain, sometimes urgency, | Helped By: sometimes excercising | Worsened By: found no real triggers
This was the last of that kinda thing for me too. No more Urologists and GPs. Forgive them for they know not what they do. PT and relaxation are the ONLY things that have made a difference so far. It just seems like its a very very slow ride to recovery. Will have to be patient.

Prostatitis caused by microbes ?
Federico Guercini still has his web site prostatitis2000.org in which he claims :
"Prostatitis is ALMOST ALWAYS caused by microbes whether they are detected or not by standard laboratory procedures."
He seems to have a loot of ideas I have nor seen anythere else.
I know most folks on this site would disagree with him..
Guercini seems to be convinces he is right he has a good treatment program.
I only see that one person on this site mention he saw him . He was not impressed but he did not complete the treatment.
Does his treatment make sense or not?
Or should his advice be completely be disregarded?

Dr Guercini pasted a few days ago that he believes the cortisone in his injections is the key component, which indicates to me that he is no longer of the opinion that infection is important.
Cortisone (betamethasone) is a powerful local anti-inflammatory in the prostate. As we know from the theory of pelvic myoneuropathy, neuromuscular tension in the pelvis can directly stimulate inflammation in the genitourinary tract, so such injections could indeed offer symptomatic relief.

I've met (in person) 3 people who went to this guy and ALL 3 of them came back worse than before. Be careful of this kind of thing. It can go horribly wrong.

NOW - I am glad you published it. IT IS THE TRUTH 100%. Webslave I want you to know I take no offence. God be with us all who suffer from this horrible condition. I am still not totally better but thats ok - after my experience at Dr Wise's clinic I've been able to carry on with my life and live a normal life (normal-ish I guess). SP saved my life. I am forever grateful to the wonderful people in CA who guided me in the direction where I could save myself, experience hope again and live my life. God bless them all.webslave wrote:Nearly 2 years later, and I recently received the following private message from fjt and although he does not want me to post it, I am overruling him in the interest of the many people who may be misled by this Dr Song guy:

Its been a while since we last spoke. Remember there were some bleeding arguments at one stage when I posted about my experience with Dr Song?
Good news is that I learned from my mistake and went to see Dr Wise. It was one of the best experiences of my life in terms of the hope it brought me and the understanding it brought on the subject of CPPS. I am now, 18 months later, about 80% - 90% better. I have a great life, girlfriend and working full time doing something I enjoy. Dr Wise and Tim saved my life as far as I'm concerned. Mine is a true success story
Ok now here is why I am emailing you. Can I please ask that this be kept confidential. I will tell you why. After Changsha I found that the treatment at Song's clinic made me worse. I started demanding my money back from Song. He refused and then I started bashing him on the forums by sharing my experiences under his treatment. He then backed down and gave me back half my money. I had to sign a written contract stating that I would not speak of him again online. You get it? He paid me thousands of dollars to keep quiet.
They also use these "plants" who go around on these forums and they pretend to be ex-patients etc. They then praise Song and his treatment in an attempt to lure people into going to see Song. There are people like that on this forum. Please be aware of this. Dr Song and his disciples are a scheming, calculating lying bunch of people. I don't want anyone to have to go through what I did.
I can go on and on about the s**t the Dr Song crew get up to. Some of it really is jaw dropping stuff. He is an EVIL and GREEDY little man. Did you know he charges his foreign patients 4 times what the chinese guys pay? I hear he's started treating women now. Its getting worse. Oh and he's moved to smart new building too. Making a bundle no doubt.
Anyway I hope all is well with you these days. Keep up your fantastic work. You guys save lives!

Age, 44 onset age 37 Feb 2006 Freq. need to urinate. Sensation of having to urinate soon after going. Perineum discomfort/burning/tightness, pubic area discomfort @ times, poor urine stream, post urine dripping/spray. All symptoms have improved with my protocol. Re: Major flare up after intraprostatic injection (Dr Song)!!
Having been away from the forum for a while and catching up with a few things I am shocked by the whole Dr.Song and Debbie/Rob issues I've seen on various threads around the site.
It never ceases to shock me what some people will do in this world to profit from people in desperate situations.
fjt I am glad you are doing well.
