Diazepam

Hi,

New to this forum and have a question. When I use Diazepam (valium) my chronic pain is completely gone. Do this mean the pain I am experiencing (tip of penis, testicle) are most likely muscle related ? Normal painkillers —paracetamol, paralgin forte (Codeine/acetaminophen)— do not seem to help at all.

Now when I have used valium 5 mg for a couple of says I find that after terminating the valium pills, my pain is considerably less. From around 6-7 before taking the valium pills to perhaps 2 on a pain scale 1-10 a few days later. I took the last pill four days ago. Any idea why ?

Benzodiazepines (Valium, Klonopin, Xanax, Ativan as well as Lorazepam, Librium) for anxiety (a hallmark of CPPS patients) and to help release muscular spasm. For short term or occasional use only. Careful with addiction.

I have the same effect with Xanax I think. Took half pill for a long-haul overnight flight. The next 2-3 days after landing I didn’t have any frequency or feeling of itch / burn / tickling in the penis. Only the discharge and nocturia (though surprisingly I had to get up more in the Night than before).

Wish there would be a similar drug that could be taken long-term.

I have best experience with Klonopin. Using it strictly during the flare ups and even in this situation not every day. If I take 0,25 mg in the evening, good sleep and even kind of bearable next day follows... Definitely not cure but helping tool in the darkest moments of flare ups.

Only thing that releases my spasm (left side only perineum area) is narcotics, ER gives me Morphine and it releases... Valium "helps" but will not do it by itself... Again, for ME...
