My Experience

Hi folks!
I'm new here and thought I'd share with you my experience and maybe get some feedback and advice from you all who have more experience with this stuff than I sure do.
I'm almost 21 and I did have a bout with Prostatitis 5 years ago. One day I woke up and realized I couldn't pee.. Barely anything would come out. I don't remember it very much so I'm not sure if there was pain or any thing, but I don't think so...
Anyway, I started to have symptoms around the 9th of this month (March). At first I wrote it off as not drinking enough fluids cause I know that my bladder does get slightly irritated if I don't drink enough water and my pee gets more darker yellow and it burns slightly but it usually goes away after drinking more. Sadly, it didn't... I would get these little urges to pee just a few mins after going and not much would come out. I also noticed that when I would ejaculate it didn't come out with much force and not much came out of me at all really and afterwards I get this slight dull ache in my Perineum area.
I was getting this tingle/burning/itchy type of sensation that felt like it started as the tip of my penis and went into and up my urethra. I went to the doctor and got a Prostate Exam (oh fun.. ) the NP that saw me said she didn't feel like it was inflamed or boggy and went ahead to order a urine test. The test came back completely normal but told me to call back the next day if it didn't get any better. So the next day, still no improvement so I called and got prescribed Cipro 250mg twice a day. I took it for a few days but it felt like things had gotten worse. I was getting aches in my butt and lower back. I couldnt really sit completely flat on a chair cause it was make the burning/tingly feeling in my penis and groin intensify. I couldnt handle it any more so I went back and saw a different NP.
Her and I spoke and she did another prostate exam on me and this time when she pressed on it, it made my that unpleasant feeling in my penis really get going... it wasn't super painful or anything but didn't feel nice at all.. She told me she did feel a little bit of boggy and inflammation. She gave me a new script for Cipro which was for 500mg twice a day instead of 250mg. Told me if I wasn't better back last Thursday to let her know. Well... it seemed to have gotten better. So far I've only been on Cipro for about 2 weeks now.
The past few days the symptoms have gotten really better. I don't have that feeling of needing to go pee right after going. I don't seem to have any problems with my urine stream, starting it or stopping it.. etc... no issues. The pain that was in my back seems to have vanished too. I use to have pains in my rectum area and those have gotten better but not fully gone yet. I use to have pain in my testicles from just touching them but that is gone. I have no problem getting a erection or keeping it. My sex drive is as high as ever and I don't get that dull ache after orgasm either. Should I be jerking it or should I lay off for a bit? I heard that you can just make the prostate irritated again if you keep masturbating, but then I heard that its healthy for it if you have prostatitis so I don't know which to believe...
The only thing that is still there is the slow ejaculation and the amount. Yesterday there was a lot of it but today there wasn't much at all and it just doesn't shoot out like it use to... its slower and its frustrating. Honestly, over all my symptoms of Super mild.. I don't need to take any pain pills or anything like that other than my Cipro and this prostate health supplement called any accredited quercetin product that my Dad got me to try.
I honestly don't know if the Cipro is truly working since they found no bacteria in my urine or if its the anti-inflammatory properties that the antibiotics have that is making me feel better.
How long does Prostatitis that is treatable by Cipro usually take to clear up?
I really want this to go away so I'm hoping I just have the acute version of it and that is clearing up because having the Chronic type.. especially the CPPS type scares me to death since it's pretty much life long.
So yeah.. that's my story.
Would love to hear your thoughts, questions, opinions, stories.. etc..
