I have been dealing with chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome for the last four years now. I just discovered this web site, and my head is spinning from all of the information out there on a condition my doctor says no one understands. The antihistamine discussions here got me me thinking. I have suffered from allergies most of my life. I am in my late 20's now and for at least the last 10 or 15 years antihistamine and decongestants have been an almost daily routine for me through the spring and summer months. And it got me thinking, could these drugs have had something to do with the initial onset of prostatitis and CPPS? Looking back, it seems like the first time I was diagnosed with urinary problems was right after a heavily medicated bout with allergies.

Yes, they can make a subclinical case clinical, as it were. Especially decongestants, which are notorious for causing symptoms.
