Spasm/Flutter in perineum Treatments?

Hello all. For the past several weeks I have definitely been having improvement of at least 15%. My urinary issues have gotten so much better and my overall pain levels have decreased. The pain while sitting remains, but it is better than it was a month or two ago. I went a college football game on Saturday and managed to sit through most of it without terrible discomfort. I have reduce my tramadol from 100mg a day to 25mg a day along with some advil.
One new symptom that has popped up over the last4-5 days has been an intermittent feeling of a "spasm" or "flutter" in my perineum. It is not painful; just irritating. I am still taking very low levels of valium each day (.5-1 mg, 3x a day) as well as doing some light massage on what I think is the bulbospongiosus muscle, but the spasm continues.
Does anyone have any self massage, stretch, or other suggestions? Does anyone else have this happen or knows what the cause is?
Thanks!

This question has been asked and answered many times. Search forum for "fasciculations" (a sign of healing).

Webslave and others-
I went through the forums and most folks say they feel it and it is a sign of healing. (Which obviously is good.)
Interestingly enough, this same twitching/spasm is what I felt when this whole thing started for me over 18 months ago.
Should you try to treat it (i.e. valium, massage, warm packs, stretch) or just leave it alone and stick with my regular protocol I've been following? I sent my PT an email and she had no suggestions.

coppertop,
I have exactly that and have had it on and off since 2006. This spasm-like tingling feeling or as one person here called it "phantom nerve impulses". Over the years, these sensations have been annoying and very frustrating for me. Even as I am typing right now, I can feel the uncomfortable sensation in my perineum area.
You can read one of my posts "Does anyone have my symptoms?" to get info from some of the guys in the forum regarding this. I've tried many things to help alleviate this feeling and unfortunately have not found any effective relieve (except in my case anti-biotics but as we all know, doesn't last long-term). However, the best natural treatment I've tried for that brought me great relief was yoga breath therapy (deep breathing meditation) where your central nervous system relaxes so profoundly it will be impossible to feel those spasms. Although the effect was temp, it did the job! I became asymptomatic Another guy mentioned doing some internal work but I have yet to have any success with my PT with that yet.
Hope this helps you copper!

Coppertop,
The name of the PT I currently see is Sharon Arditti. She works at JFK medical center in Edison.
