I need to order something other than a doughnut seat to deal with my drive to work. I see the Pelvic Friendly Chair Cushions come in different sizes, do you just choose based on your weight? Weird that the one for my weight is 3 inches of foam instead of 2" thats why I'm asking.
Thanks.

Hi,
I use these cushions both for computer work and driving. I have found that in my particular case, even though my body weight suggests the 2 inch firm model, I am happier with the 3 inch firm model. Some of this has to do with the fact that I have trigger points just inside the anus (so very sensitive to even light pressure), but also because the cushions tend to compress down over time (not just in one sitting so to speak, but over a period of months).
That said, I still use both the 2 and 3 inch models. I use the 3 inch for working at my computer and use the 2 inch for driving. I would prefer the 3 inch for driving as well, however there is one big problem in doing that - I don't feel nearly as stable sitting on top of that much foam in a car where there are G forces in play. So when I turn either left or right, I don't feel stable using the 3 inch mode. but I do when using the 2 inch model. If I never had to turn left or right, the 3 inch would be fine
But seriously, I think unless someone is really heavy (i.e well over 100 kgs), I find it hard to imagine they would feel secure on the 3 inch cushion when actually driving. For use on chairs at home it's a completely different story though.

Hate to bump this up but I have another question, I am about 5', 5" and 142 pds. I would like the firm model as well, I have a 2 hour ride each way and I think the 2" would collapse. Thing is, the 3" firm is for a weight class much higher than mine, the only thing in my weight class is 3" soft and I think even at 3 inches it will collapse.
Should I just get the 3" or 2 " firm?

I think it would depend on what you are riding in. If it is a car, I don't think I could ever use the 3 inch and I am a lot heavier than you (unless you are not driving).
What you do need to understand is that the cushions change a huge amount during the first 8 odd hours of use. They all feel terribly hard then completely soften up. I am about 190 pounds and I prefer the 3 inch for everything except driving. I do find the 2 inch OK for driving though, so long as I use a cheap (lightly woven) pillow slip over it. As i say, even at my body weight, the 3 inch just sits me too high for a good feeling of stability when going around corners.
My guess is that at your weight, you could get away with the 2 inch firm but get rid of the blue cover (I hate them!).
