Does anyone know of a pain doctor or pain clinic in New York City or Westchester that is willing to treat people with chronic pelvic pain syndrome. I have been turned away from pain doctor after pain doctor and clinic after clinic when they hear that my problem is CPPS!! I am trying to find a doc who is willing to treat me for this damn pain, with medication if necessary until I can at least afford to go to physical therapy down in the city. Both treatments at the same time would be of benefit as I also suffer from a herniated disk in my back. I have already tried PT in one place, but I was VERY dissatisfied with the way the therapist worked on me....only ten or fifteen minutes per half hour session!! What the hell good could that do??!! She sure knew how to charge my insurance company thousands of dollars though!! I want to try H&D Physical Therapy, but money is a problem for me as I have been out of work for more than 2 years now because of this pain. My urologist gives me Ultram which was a Godsend at first, but now its effect is waning on me. He won't try anything else on me, though. He just says that I need physical therapy.
I know this, damnit, but I still need some way to control the pain until I can once again afford to go to therapy....IF I ever can!! I have tried just about every type of supplement and remedy that there is (ie:quercetin, MSM, etc.), but only GENUINE pain meds (ie:Ultram, hydrocodone, etc.) give some relief for at least some time. I have heard that some of you guys have gone to pain clinics and have had success with them, but are there any in New York who could at least be willing to try and treat guys like us so that we can at least maintain our sanity??!! I have had quite enough of this PAIN!! It has totally destroyed my entire life!! I also have been doing stretches for about a year and a half now with little effect. I also try to reach trigger points in my rectum from time to time but without a good PT this is almost impossible for me to do. Sorry to ramble on guys, but I am at the breaking point now and doctors are of NO USE to me at all!!!! You all know how it is.

If Ultram is no good, what medication/s are you trying to get prescribed?

I take a 1-2 5mg tablets of valium every few days or when the pain is really bad. If you get valium, try not to take it often as it is an addictive medication and the effects will lessen if taken daily.

As a man who lives here in NY and went through what you are going through now I'll tell you all I know about what is available. Just give me a message.

I've got to tell you that I never found a doctor who was willing to treat the debilitating pain which I had in NY from 97 to 2000. And keeping mind that my insurance plan is one of the best available. There seems to be an aversion in America to treating, or even believing that a patient is in pain. Not one doctor would prescribe me pain killers at that time. I occasionally wonder if the situation has changed.

As for Westchester, one of the most considerate practitioners I found was actually in White Plains. If you want his # message me.

Be well soon,

Robert

Guys,

In NYC I recommend Stacey Futterman at H&D Physical Therapy. She specifically treats this problem and has great success. I happen to also be visiting the Body Tuning Shop of Dr. Tatz. He does not specifically treat CPPS. However, he is recognized as a very talented PT and he has helped relieve quite a bit of my muscle tension with his unorthodox methods.

Here are the webistes........

Hope this helps...
