NSAID Effectiveness for CPPS

Post by rgparrish1 »

I'm sure this subject has been discussed on this board before, but I don't know of an effective way to find the information (so please pardon me if I'm out of order here). At any rate here's my question:

Have any (or many) of you found NSAISs to be effective in treating CPPS? I happen to have CPPS, in addition to prostititis (inflamation of the prostate)?

It is my understanding that NSAIDs are effective in treating inflamation in the joints (but not necessarily in other parts of the body, such as the prostate, for example). Assuming this is true (which I'm NOT SURE of), I would have to question their effectiveness in treating prostititis and CPPS, and especially CPPS, since I don't believe it's considered inflamation...or is it?

Any thoughts or comments?

Thanks to all!

My view is that they can get you out of a fix - but only temporarily. My limited experience with voltarol was positive but I haven't allowed myself to take too many of them. I think they can temporarily get you out of a phase in the cycle of pain leading to tensing leading to more pain. If you're lucky they could break that cycle altogether. But I wouldn't rely on them too much.

Natural pain killers

Post by roberth »

I'm allergic to NSAIDS so I've looked for natural anti-inflammatories. You may want to try Zyflamend. It is a natural pain killer which works by reducing COX-2 inflammation. After running out of my free bottle of Quercetin, ( I did have to pay for shipping ) I decided to look for other natural inflammatories that were not so damn expensive. I been taking Zyflamend ( find it at any health food store) for a week and my symptoms have not worsened. It doesn't eliminate the pain but does seem to help a little. I've also been taking 8 Wobenzym-N pills a day. Four in the morning and four in the evening. This has been going on for about a month. I believe I am making progress ( along with the relaxation techniques in AHIP ) but the progress is slow. I plan to continue with everything for several months as long as symptoms keep improving. Two steps forward, one step back.
