It thought I share this with everyone. I've been suffering from CP/CPPS the past three months and have gone through all the standard testings and Antibiotics regiments with little or no improvement. I just returned from an hour of Yoga class and I have to admit, the relaxation, breathing and the meditations seem to have ease the pain. I spoke with the teacher and we did spend more time on stretching the pelvic muscles and learning how to relax them and I have learnt a few more stetching techniques to try at home. Later today I am heading to an hour of physical therpay to further learn how to approach this chronic issue and hopefully find more solutions in easing the pain.

In search of an answer!

Worth also getting hold of this book from Amazon - The Relaxation & Stress Reduction Workbook.

HI,

I too have benefited quite a bit from yoga. The breathing techniques, coupled with the asanas and various bodily movements, has opened me up both physically and mentally. I think that yoga is slow medicine, but is an integral part (at least for me) to the long term solution to CPPS. I am wondering what stretches you are doing to open-up the pelvic area, and I would be interested in knowing what your PT recommends as well.

Alright this is a post a like seeing. Shortly after I had first developed my discomfort I had read that Stress reduction thereapy was good for prostatitus, including Yoga. Needless to say that I had joined a Yoga class immediately after learniong this and have had nothing but promising effects after each and every session that I do. So I would also have to say that I have had great relief, both mentally and physically, from my Yoga sessions.
