Re: My story 6 months in - input appreciated
Thanks. Couple of questions before I once again completely park the bacterial route:
1. Any significance at all of the gram positive cocci?
2. Do you think meares-stamey offers anything over semen culture?
Thanks

1 No. Research has shown that men without CPPS have similar sparse levels of bacteria in prostate biopsies and urine. "There is no difference in rates of localization of bacterial cultures for men with CP/CPPS compared to control men."
2. No. From research: "The high prevalence of WBCs and positive bacterial cultures in the asymptomatic control population raises questions about the clinical usefulness of the standard 4-glass test as a diagnostic tool in men with CP/CPPS."

Thanks webslave.
Will continue with all of the good stuff, hopefully some degree of improvement is around the corner.
Anything you’d add to the list of things I mentioned last week?

Re: My story 6 months in - input appreciated
Feeling completely fed up. This is my second bout of CPPS. The first started in Feb 2016 and was pretty bad for most of 2016, although it took me a lot of time to discover that muscular tension was the root cause. Things started to improve from early 2017 and I was back to normal by August 2017.
This latest bout has been ongoing since September 2018. The main problem is testicular pain, and it’s affecting me incredibly badly. This is possibly the lowest I’ve felt. Where as during my first bout the symptoms would wax and wane and I often had periods of a few days with no symptoms at all, this time it is every single day. Horrible testicular pain, every single day. Since this started in September I’ve been doing everything I can to get on top of it, including: 2xdaily stretching, internal work, work with PT, mindfulness, work with foam roller and massage ball, yoga, saunas, low dose amitriptyline. I’m sure there are others that I haven’t mentioned.
Despite all this, I’m feeling no better. The pain comes and goes during the day but there isn’t a day that my testicles aren’t in significant pain. I’ve had to stop work so I can take the amitriptyline as the medication and my line of work aren’t compatible.
I just don’t know what else I can do and feel like I should have seen some improvement since I’ve been doing this religiously for 6 months now
Where do I turn next?

I’m a pilot. I know the stress and periods of sitting involved with my job aren’t helpful. I fly short haul so am never sat for longer than a couple of hours and generally try and wander around at least once during a flight. I also find it a lot less stressful than I think I would many other jobs!
I’ve been off work for coming up to 2 months now and feel like my symptoms have been worse since

Well CPPS used to be known as the "trucker's disease" because so many long haul truckers had it, so there may be some connection. Sitting while at the same time keeping a high level of concentration can predispose to pelvic tension.
Earlier you said that you "sustained a very nasty groin muscle tear from playing tennis". Just be aware there is a possible link between such injuries and testicular pain
https://ucpps.men/lift ... didymitis/
Other than that, this may simply be a flare, and that's par for the course with CPPS.

Re: My story 6 months in - input appreciated
Thanks webslave. The timeline of my experience with CPPS is all over the place, but the groin tear was April 2016 and I’ve only really had any testicular pain for the month of July 2017 and then again since September 2018 so I’d be surprised if there was a link?
I’m considering trying the DCT course that NathanDrake posted a success regarding. I’m also a member of a CPPS Facebook group and there are a lot of positive noises from members of that group regarding the DCT programme. Is it something you’re familiar with at all Mark?

Not really, but I'm very interested to hear more case histories. Currently n=1 or 2, so the more people we get reporting back on this the better.

Webslave - would you be able to open Nathandrake's thread in "more success stories" for replys so we can ask questions about the approach he took?

I'm doing the DCT course since one month (got testicle pain and tailbone pain). I injured my heel, so that makes it more difficult, but the first two weeks of DCT did give me more relief than all the other treatments (and I've done many). Will report in a few weeks how things go, but the heel pain needs to go down first (can barely walk at the moment, which sucks hard.. hospital doesn't know why I have so much pain)
Age: 25| Onset Age: 24 (perhaps 22)| Symptoms: Sore & Sensitive Testicles, Sore abs, Pressure in Rectum, Coccyx Pain| Helped By: Deep and wide squated position against the wall | Worsened By: Sitting, Pants, Walking| Other comments:

That is very encouraging. Thanks for posting and I hope your heel pain resolves soon and your progress continues. All the best and please keep us up to date!

Re: My story 6 months in - input appreciated
I have been doing really well over the past few months with almost no pelvic pain/testicular symptoms. However, in the last few days the dull constant testicular pain has returned, as well as some burning pain down inner thighs.
Three attributable things have happened in the past few weeks and I’m wondering about the relevance of each:
1. I have been doing increasing amounts of exercise. Mainly cardio in the form of running, and basic eccentric abs exercise using a spring loaded ab wheel (as advocated on the DCT course if anybody is familiar). However a few days ago I did my first upper body weights session in the gym in years, and this symptom flare has coincided with that.
2. Diagnosed with chlamydia, yesterday. I’m going back to sexual health clinic tomorrow to get the antibiotic. I’m confident I know who it came from and the time between exposure and symptoms is about 2 weeks.
3. Tapered off 30mg amitriptyline, which I was taking for jaw/headache issues but may have also been helping the pelvic issues?
I’ve upped the regularity of stretching and internal massage and hot baths etc, but kind of hoping that the chlamydia infection has triggered this and once that’s sorted it’ll settle down again. Webslave, do you think that’s realistic? The websites I’ve read regarding chlamydia do state testicular pain as a potential albeit rare symptom.
