I take NATURAL CALM every night helps me sleep, if I took it during the day would be to relaxed I think. It is also used for relaxation. Natural Calm is good because it dissolves in water and goes right to you system. Pills my go through your system before you really absorb them. I think its has help for sure and makes bowel movements smooth which is good thing for this condition right?
Age 32, onset 32 Onset Aug 07- frequency was main problem in the beginning-really bad. Now 1 to 2x per night when frequency flairs up. Sore and tight lower abdominal muscles. Occasional burning after bowel movement and full feeling. What helps: Healthy diet(this is huge for me) Started drinking super greens supplament and almost going totally vegetarian to get body more alkaline, starting Prosta-Q, quercetin/zinc tablet in morning helped frequency problem I believe. Massaging abs and doing stretches helps calm down frequency when it is acting up. Wine or vodka after long day. Flexeral and melatonin at night. Swimming and light weights. .5 of Elavil every other day helps with frequency and healing process. Trying to stay positive and not stressing over this!

natural calm is the company that makes the spray I use, I just bought a potassium magnesium citrate it says there is only 70 mg of magnesium per pill - is this normal?

I wonder what's better the natural calm solvent or the pills?

Magnesium - Food for thought

Post by davyboy »

I have done quite a bit of reading online about how the body reacts to a magnesium deficiency and one of the symptoms is muscle tension. It appears muscles cannot relax if they are magnesium deficient.

Some food for thought for those of you out there.
Age: 27 | Onset Age: 26| Symptoms: Occasional penis discomfort (mild), primary pain is perineum - feels like I'm sitting on a golf ball, pressure in penis, almost like a stick is in my urethra, difficulty sitting for long periods of time, urinary frequency (some), incontinence (dribbling), right testicle pain (almost gone!), hip pain, stiff hips, lower back pain. Some abdomen pain. Just general discomfort in the area, post sex discomfort. | Helped By: External and Internal PT. Hot bathes. Supplements (mag, omega 3, vitamin b and D, prosta Q). Relaxing. Breathing exercises. Anti inflammatory diet. Stretches. Yoga | Worsened By: Stress. Core exercises, too much exercise, too little exercise, strenuous exercise. Sitting. Too much Sex | Other comments: Feeling better, but still not 100% I'd say I'm 75%

Thought I'd bring up the magnesium issue too. How's it been going for everyone? I started taking a mag supplement this week and I'm watching for spasms. I also seem to come across the notion that it's citrate that has the laxative effect and the other magnesiums seem to affect more muscle and nerve function. What have people learned on the topic?

Another interesting study on Mg defiency as an indicator of CPPS

Magnesium content in seminal fluid as an indicator of chronic prostatitis.
