Great post! Happy holiday to you as well and to everyone on this forum. Fight the good fight. The way I see this condition for all its symptoms and how it strikes us in many different ways. This is our warning to change our thought process and make changes in our lives that will help us. Eat right, stay in shape, stretch, relax and breathe and follow your protocal that helps you recover. Possitive thinking and hard work always pays off.

Regards, Carl...

I encourage anxiety prone UCPPS people to consider L-Theanine
Age, 44 onset age 37 Feb 2006 Freq. need to urinate. Sensation of having to urinate soon after going. Perineum discomfort/burning/tightness, pubic area discomfort @ times, poor urine stream, post urine dripping/spray. All symptoms have improved with my protocol. At the worst I give it a 1 to 2 on irritation and discomfort and frequency. Helps: Elavil 5mg for anxiety and mast cell protection, (will only take it as needed) self internal PT as needed, stretching, walking, stairmaster cardio workout and light weights, reducing stress, moment to moment relaxation, deep breathing relaxation and using a Theracane. Makes worse: sitting for long periods, stress, over focusing on it. Currently 95%-98% recovered. Stay positive, relaxed and control your anxiety.

Happy Holidays

Carl's point is very true. Since I have been experiencing this condition, it has brought personal long-term health issues to the very forefront of my mind, whereas in the past they were kind of an afterthought, if I thought about them at all. There is a quote in a book about urological conditions that was written by Dr. Katz (who heads up the Center for Holistic Urology at Columbia University) that says something to the effect of "Good health is no accident, and good prostate health is no exception to that rule." Although I never would have chosen to have this condition strike me, in a sense I believe that if I am able to fully recover, an ongoing future focus on my health may help me to avoid other potential long-term health problems in the future (or least I hope so, anyway).

re: GP2 the one thing I learned is to not "under-appreciate" health.

Money comes and goes - as do most things.

But - not to sound like a walking cliche - without your health everything else seems worth a lot less! I try to not get caught up in the small stuff so much anymore....

A Holiday Check In

Post by james-d »

Hello,
I used to be a big reader and poster to this board. I went around and around with a few users here - as many people have - trying to find what works for me. I have been better now for a few years. Life is very good and there is life after this dreaded ailment.

I just wanted to wish everyone a happy Holiday season - and tell any new sufferers to hang in there - and don't give up. Many different things have worked for many different people here.

What worked for me - may or may not work for you. But the ideas here are great.

What's important is to take charge of your own health and know that you will get better with persistence and continued effort.

My best to all -

-James

Long time gone - so - an update on injections...

Post by james-d »

After well over 5 years of being symptom free - I started to get bad again in early 2010. After the usual denial and useless attempts at regaining control over the illness I went and had injections again.
If you search my posts - you will see that I have done this several times before over the past many years.

My protocol is similar to that of Dr. Bahn - minor modifications and done locally - and now transperineally instead of transrectally. Dr.'s choice - not mine - trans-rectal is easier to endure.

Anyway - I have completed my 6th round a few weeks back. Each round injects the seminal vesicles and prostate. Done every 2 weeks.

I feel great again. 95% there - if it works like before should be 100% in 2 months.

If not - I will repost my relapse and look for other solutions.

Just wanted to update this board that I relapsed after many many years - but that I was able to get control of the problem again.

In case anyone is tracking this sort of thing.

I will keep posting as things evolve over the next few months.
