Hi ezer. Thanks for this. So do you simply lie down, close your eyes, and relive some of these moments from your past and let yourself feel whatever emotions come up?
Interesting that we have similar personalities in this way. When I get really nervous or angry or feel especially rejected (like in a break up), my symptoms become much, much worse. So there has got to be some connection.

Good question. I would distinguish two sorts of emotions.
For past emotions/trauma, you should definitely set aside some time. It doesn't need to be so formal as to lay down in silence. It could be during a walk or driving your car which usually puts you in a meditative state that is conducive to recalling past events.
In regards to present day emotions, you should do it on a moment to moment basis. The best is to use pain as a signal. Whenever you are distracted by the pain, automatically ask yourself what emotion is the pain trying to dim? State the emotion (overwhelmed, frazzled, anxious etc.) and feel it. You should experience immediately a reduction of your pain. I certainly did experience it in the early days which was extremely encouraging.

Gah. I had a stressful event (bedbug scare) about two weeks ago and went backwards, from 85% to 65%. I have rectal pressure issues that I just can't seem to effect at all.
