Re: U&F and PT
That's a good basic strategy, yes. You may need to do more if the symptoms persist.

Re: U&F and PT
So, I'm not sure if this qualifies as a "success" story though I feel like my darkest days with this are now behind me. Yes, it requires regular treatment: for me, that means nightly warm baths, time stretching, and of course, keeping stress down. For the long term, I have had to avoid gluten completely, and have significantly fewer dairy products.
How am I doing now?
Urinating every 4-6 hours (normal!)
Pain after sex lasts maybe a few minutes. Stretching and a decent workout makes it go away completely.
Therapy/yoga/bath daily.
When this started, I felt like I was in a dungeon, and every day was a nightmare. I don't feel that way anymore. Without this site, I don't think I would have gotten to this point--I got married this summer, and no longer feel disconnected from my wife because of this.
I may never post here again, but I wanted to thank you webslave--in a strange way, I feel much more reflective and almost like chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome has made my life better now--I will never allow my stress to get to that level ever again.
I know these thoughts are kind of disjointed but I just wanted to share--keep up hope. It took me almost 2 years to get to this mythical "80%" point, but now that I'm there, I know that this is beatable. Just requires some life changes and committment. No easy way around it, and while I miss drinking with my friends, it's not everything--your health is.
