Just an update here: Duke Bahn is apparently a radiologist and not a urologist. As such, I am uneasy about him treating CPPS.

I think I knew that - I believe that he got into this "game" as an offshoot of prostate cancer. I never met him and can not speak to him in any way other then to say his office was very helpful in educating my Dr. on his protocol. Then my Dr. did some minor adapting of that for me.

I can't complain - I have been damn near 100% for a long time now.

[webslave edit: James-D's story does not end here. The injection saga continues here:

Hi,

I had the 1st set of Dr. Bahn injections 2 weeks ago. The amount of pain I had right after the procedure was very high. I could not leave his office for 3 hrs. because of serious pain. He told me that I was the only patient in 10 years to experience such a pain. In the following week the pain/urgency was also really high compared with what I had before. Now at the end of the 2nd week I feel I have to go most of the time and I still have some lower abdomen pain. I gave up the last 2 sets of injections. I hope to get better at least to where I was before. Anyway, Dr. Bahn did a very thorough ultrasound investigation and found infection in my seminal vesicles and little calcifications in my prostate. I talked to one of his patients who had a set of 14 injections and feeling great now. He was able to tolerate them very well.

I will post updates after a few more weeks.

All the best!!

Stay away from Dr. Toth at all costs!

I underwent treatment by Dr. Toth in early 2010 and have been left disabled by his procedure. His procedure has ruined my life and my family. He treated me and my wife for a supposed chlamydia infection that was trapped in scar tissue according to him. Of course we had many tests before which were all negative but he is very convincing and said that it caused our son's heart defect most likely. He injected my seminal vesicles and prostate 36 times over 10 days and has left me in terrible constant pelvic, butt, low back, genital and leg pain and with a devastated nervous system from the pain for the last 16 months. My ejaculate is now gold colored and full of WBC's since the injections. It used to be milky white with no WBC's. He has left me with the inability to ejaculate without going though horrible pain for days and days worse than the constant pain I now have from the procedure. I can't work or provide for my family anymore and I have two young kids. My wife and I were duped by him and have lost everything and the worse part is that no one can treat me since they have never heard of anyone doing this procedure. I went in with a sore prostate gland and left disabled. If anyone else has had the same experience please contact me.

Can anyone provide any information at all of positive long term relief with these injections? I only found one, who advocates for the Asian clinic in China and 30-40 day treatments being the minimum. He claims to have been cured by this method. I'm so confused and have been dealing with this for such a long time. I spoke to Dr Toth but from previous users on here I'm very scared and skeptical now. How many injections and what volumes and what substances were used?

If you look in Pubmed, you'll find a lot of poor studies in obscure journals. You can get confused if you don't know how to filter out the junk.

As a general principle, keep away from old doctors from obscure countries and their (self-described) "brilliant" ideas! They are almost always quacks with phoney "cures", same as the quacks in the Philippines and China (discussed elsewhere in the forum). This new "brilliant" idea is just a rehash of old ideas.
  1. Putting antibiotics into the rectum does not give a greater concentration of antibiotics in the prostate. This is pure speculation, and actually highly unlikely.
  2. The "rectal heater" is a novel variation on the old sitz bath routine, so nothing really new here. Heat can relax muscles in spasm. But I am uncomfortable with the idea of a Chinese made electrical device inside the rectum (made by Zewa, zewa.com). Any malfunction could lead to damage to the thin rectal walls, which would be a catastrophe. Similar results can be achieved with heating pads used externally, or sitz baths. We have a thread on this heater at viewtopic.php?f=7&t=7561 However, if you want to be a guinea pig, buy it and try it out, we'd be interested to hear the outcome

I had a bacterial chronic prostatitis. Now I am absolutely painfree and don't go to toilet so much as I went before. I had three injections after that I checked it with cemen test there was NO BAKTERİA and WBC in the prostate. But be careful when you decide for the injection there are two types one with ultrason and the other is manhanded :/(without Ultrason).

My understanding is Dr. Bahn retired and the website is down. The office said he trained someone else to do it. I don’t know where else this is done but I’m looking for somewhere.

Hello guys, some feedback from my side re intraprostatic injection. I had it done two years ago, three times with three different antibiotics. The theory of the Doc was bacteria with biofilms around the clacifications can cause infection and inflammation. I have experienced no difference at all. So in hindside, a waste of money and time.
