Hi Ausie I am in Australia and have been to the clinic that you mentioned. I am female. I have a lot of respect for the PNE endogynaecologist you talk about. I spent an hour with them last week detailing my experiences at the Wise Clinic in the US last December. They are keen to learn and very much want to help people with pelvic pain out of real concern for their well being. They are considering a fully comprehensive clinic. Not only physio, acupuncture, specialist doctors and psychologists but meditation and are very keen to help.
What I do know however is that when my pain was at its worst I was diagnosed with pudendal neuralgia and as Jay says I have no doubt it was caused by the constant contraction of muscles in the pelvis and trunk. I was a mess and had similar pains to men like searing pain on orgasm. I think the pelvis can become so contracted from injury guarding that neuromuscular windup occurs and the pudendal nerve gets compressed. It was horrible..Endone didn't take the edge off until I started meditation and yoga.
Is prostatitis PNE or vice versa?

CPP since 2005. Prior to CPP always overly fit and active. I am female. Had two natural births: singleton 1998 and twins 2000. 2002 emergency back surgery - L5S1 herniation. Then recurring UTIs. Usual antibiotic overload. Then constant debilitating burning bladder and reaction to many foods. Australian Pain Clinic 2007. Turning point was Dec 2009 Attended Wise Clinic in Santa Rosa USA.
Was helped by strict diet but now eating normally after years of restricted diet - wonderful. Helped by: stretching, relaxation, yoga, trigger point, warm baths. Worsened by: stress, sitting, abdominal or glute exercises and salicylates
Medication: Now off all pain clinic meds no more Endone or Elavil only Lyrica 50 mg as Dec 2010 just reherniated L5S1disc and had discectomy. Its taken years but I feel I am over it.
