Any advice please...
Went to see my GP and asked about AH and he said be didn't know much about them and recommended vesicare which he takes and said he swears by.
Anyway, I've just started vesicare and feel worse after the first tablet - seems to enhance my urethra / penis pain. Not slept well since starting it.
Had frequency under control and GP suggested I take it to address the urgency feeling I get and urethra pain.
Thinking of stopping vesicare already or should I give it more time??
Thanks

Vesicare is Solifenacin:

Cystitis and difficulties urinating are rare side effects.

It may not be much of use to you, I just wanted to let you know that I have almost the exact place / exact problem since 2007. It goes away for a while only to return. I have tried trigger point, trigger injections, acupuncture (from a pain MD), massage, skin rolling. But it never recreates my symptoms though. It is just very painful.

Thanks Webslave,
I just had my best week since I got this nearly three years ago.
I was even starting to think I'd cracked it only to be hit by a mild flare! :) (You've got to laugh or you'd cry!)
Main symptoms now are burning type pain and penis pain after urinating.
During the week when I felt almost normal I was also taking a nine day prescription of Prochlorperazine for some ringing in my ears (completely unrelated to my CCPS)
I never though my lessening of CPPS symptoms was connected to this but just wondering since I've now had a bit of a flare.
What do you think? I know it could be complete coincidence but just wondering if it had some other properties that relieved pelvic pain??
Still want to try an antihistamine like Vistaril but when I asked my GP he gave me Vesicare - tried it but don't like it. Seemed to make things worse.
Any advice greatly appreciated.
Thanks :)

Very interesting! Prochlorperazine (Stemetil) has a semi-paralyzing effect on the brain and nervous system. First time I've seen it reported as helping with CPPS, but it could be logical.

I have also painful trigger point in at the base of penis, in the pubic area...The most effective tool was dry needling focused on muscle rectus abdominis, it helped a lot, but during current flare up the pain is back. Dorsal aspects of penis (one of my problem areas) seem to be a result of trigger point in above mentioned rectus abdominis+trigger points in puboccocygeus+irritation of pudendal nerve. Ischiocavernosus might play also a significant role. One of my most troubling issues is pain in the right side when penis is attaching the body (no pain in tip or glans), probably worn out ischiocavernosus full of trigger points...
