Back with more updates -
I started doing reiki sessions...DMcU thanks for the tip. Actually it seems to help. I think I have been 7 or 8 times. It has relaxed my glutes and pelvic area. I am not sure exactly how it works but it also relaxes my mind and it is a cool, natural buzz for a few hours. I am considering taking the classes so I can apply it to myself.
I had another MRI at the request of my Neurologist. This one shows a 5 MM herniation at LS/S1. So pretty much what the previous MRI of my sacrum showed. I had a nerve conduction test and the results were normal. My Dr. has recommended that I see a Neurosurgeon (I see him in 2 weeks) as he seems to think I have S1 nerve damage. He did say the Neurosurgeon, who is highly regarded, is not knife happy but will be able to let me know if he has experienced this before.
I decided to make an appointment with the Urologist that saw me 5 years ago. I was / am having weak stream issues and night time frequency (at times but I am a light sleeper), in addition to post ejaculation discomfort - which is internal or what seems to be the prostate area. The pain is more or less the same ache that generally re-appears 15-20 minutes after ejaculation. We went over my history and where I have been since last time. I had another DRE - normal. He put me on Rapaflo for 4 weeks as an "experiment". It seems to have helped a with my stream and not as many bathroom breaks. I have been on it for a couple weeks now and it seems to have helped my pelvic pain some. My discomfort is still noticeable but a little better. However, I don't care for the side effects of retro-ejaculation and congestion.
Webslave - I tend to agree with you but some of my doc's think they might be related. I do have low back / sacrum pain and I tweaked it this week as a reminder...ha. My back pain isn't near as bad since I started Bikram, almost 2 years ago now.
I guess once I meet with the Neurosurgeon I will have a better idea of what's going on. It should be interesting, if nothing else, to see if he has an experience with S1 nerve issues causing similar pain.
Thanks for reading my mini-novel!
