Way to go Rellis...

Charge hard in a relaxed way I say!!! :-D

I'm doing everything I love in life...but in a non-reactive way as best as possible. This condition can be managed with repect to the mind and body.
Drop and relax that pelvis and let your stomach relax...don't suck it in as you cruise through the day.

Age, 44 onset age 37 Feb 2006 Freq. need to urinate. Sensation of having to urinate soon after going. Perineum discomfort/burning/tightness, pubic area discomfort @ times, poor urine stream, post urine dripping/spray. All symptoms have improved with my protocol. At the worst I give it a 1 to 2 on irritation and discomfort and frequency. Helps: Elavil 5mg for anxiety and mast cell protection, (will only take it as needed) self internal PT as needed, stretching, walking, stairmaster cardio workout and light weights, reducing stress, moment to moment relaxation, deep breathing relaxation and using a Theracane. Makes worse: sitting for long periods, stress, over focusing on it. Currently 95%-98% recovered. Stay positive, relaxed and control your anxiety.

I can vouch for Cardenas, nice lady who will help you out. Worked for me, I could probably go again as there is some major tension, but it comes and goes. She knows what she is doing...
Good to go!

I credit Cardenas and her staff for really explaining the pelvic floor and what was likely happening to me. They even input all your symptoms and events in a computer to log everything. Even Dr. Wise knew of her. She really helped me start my recovery. I'm glad to know that if I need her again as a follow up...I can go there. She even showed my wife what to do...But I do it myself as needed. :)

Best, Carl...

Thanks to all of you for showing me how to cope with this disorder. I'm getting better as a result of your direction.

My PT mentioned that she can help me with the physical tension internally and externally but I would have to determine what is driving the emotional tension/fear what she says could be a driving root of my disorder.

Still seeing Chrissy Morgan PT in San Clemente once a week for the last 2 months for internal and external stretching of the pelvis floor.

I've been in a unhealthy high anxiety marriage for 7 years and wanted to leave for the last two years but was scared to pull the trigger. Anyways, I decided to separate for 90 days 2 weeks ago so things are difficult for me right now. I'm a emotional rollercoaster, but at the same time I've been experiencing a calming freedom knowing that I'm headed in the right direction. This too shall pass right LOL

My PT has found a Trigger point deep internally that has really improved the golfball burning sensation. My frequency/urgency is about every 2 hours now which 90 days ago was every 5 minutes so I'm doing a lot better. PT says the tension in my hip muscles is loosening up too. I've been off the diet cokes and coffee for 60 days and feel way more relaxed because of it.

I'm back in the gym 2 or 3 days a week and exercise hasn't bothered me yet although I got rid of riding the stationary bike. The last four weekends I've been riding motocross every weekend and haven't seen a flare up except that first ride about a month ago when the golfball perineum burning was still present. Following the market all day and sitting in my office chair seems to be the largest stress contributor to this disorder for me so I stand in my office and take lots of breaks and try to detach from the minute to minute volatility. Seems to be helping.

I haven't raced in 3 months cause I've been scared thinking that the extra stress would flare me up.
However, this weekend I'm planning on racing moto again and I will monitor how I deal with the extra stress of racing.

Anyways, just wanted to provide some hope and positive news for the guys who came after me or the one's that are still strugglings with this mindboggling disorder!

Again thanks

Randy

I'm really interested in knowing how your Motocross is going.
I'm too afraid to get back on a Motorcycle right now - maybe someday - but it just seems like it would be like getting kicked in the balls over and over again right now.
But, me and the Wife do have 2 nice Vino Scooters that I just let sit in the garage last year all Summer out of fear of getting on them due to chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome pain.
I sure would like to buzz around the neighborhood as the weather improves.
Keep us posted on your cycling progress.
Thanks...
Joseph

Joseph, the motocross hasn't irritated the perineum pain or frequency problem yet. Raced 2 weeks ago and I've been practising every weekend for a month with no flair up. So far so good. I'm back up to full speed but in a relaxed sort of way as Carl would say.

PT told me a lot of Perineum pain comes from guilt. I was dealing with a lot of guilt from my marriage.

Blueskies ahead JoJo -get positive

Wow Rellis - you have no idea how good it is to hear you're riding with no symptoms.
It was the one thing in my life that could make me feel young and vital no matter what negative stuff was going on around me.
I'm going to get the Scooters tuned up and give them a try - they only go 45 - but I'll look at it as practice for getting back on a bike eventually.
I think it's still too early in my Physical Therapy to risk aggrivating anything.
But - hey - good luck to you - and thanks again for the hopeful update.

FWIW.....

When I developed chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome over 14 months ago, I didn't know what it was so I continued to ride thinking it was a muscle strain or something with my back. Anyways when I did realize what I had, I took off a couple of months from riding. My condition did not get any worse, but it did not get any better either. I am now riding again, at least to and from work. I do ride both sport and cruiser bikes and have not noticed any ill affected. I also do not suffer from urgency, or bowel problems; just pain. That might make a big difference.

JoVo... it is tough to give up something you love so much. I think scoobysnacks had a good theory on things like this (in his case it was sex :agree: ) Do it and enjoy it and deal with the consequences tomorrow. I debated about putting my life on hold while i go through this, but realized you never know, and life is too short. Most of the time, I was distracted and forgot about the pain. Nuttin like some twisties to make you forget about the pain. Granted as I type this, I wonder if it caused more anxiety? :ideias:

Granted motocross is much different than street riding. At 37, this body has been abused too much to even think about riding dirt.

Only one way to find out......

just some random thoughts while I compile my code ......

Ok guys, just reporting in with you guys.

Still seeing Chrissie Morgan PT in San clemente once a week stretching internally and externally. The stretches she has me doing are mostly for groin and hip area. Straddle, side lunge, sit lean hamstring stretch etc

Frequency is about every 2 hours which I guess is normal from what the PT tells me. The only problem I'm having is the perineum burning from long sits in the chair.

I've been taking Wednesday's as my chill day to break up work week and detach from the stress build up and no office chair. I do Physical therapy and just run my errands for the week on Wed. and that seems to be helping me break up the 5 day stress build up.

As far as exercise goes I'm up to full speed again. I've eliminated riding the bike and ab crunchs at the gym but doing eliptical, treadmill, plus raquetball 3 days a week then racing mx on weekends. 3 months with out caffeine too

I'm 60 days out of the house and 30 days into my divorse and as stressful as the divorse has been dealing with custody issues and with my 9 year old boy I'm surprised I haven't flared up. :boom:

Anyways, thanks again to this website and the people on it for showing me the way to recovery.

Joseph- Here's a helmet cam video of my race on Sunday at Glen Helen raceway.

Very cool bro! Glad Chrissy could help. Just my theory but change in your personal life and outlook on life was big difference. Do you feel more relaxed overal making such drastic changes in personnel life and that was the major thing that helped you recover?
Age 32, onset 32 Onset Aug 07- frequency was main problem in the beginning-really bad. Now 1 to 2x per night when frequency flairs up. Sore and tight lower abdominal muscles. Occasional burning after bowel movement and full feeling. What helps: Healthy diet(this is huge for me) Started drinking super greens supplament and almost going totally vegetarian to get body more alkaline, starting Prosta-Q, quercetin/zinc tablet in morning helped frequency problem I believe. Massaging abs and doing stretches helps calm down frequency when it is acting up. Wine or vodka after long day. Flexeral and melatonin at night. Swimming and light weights. .5 of Elavil every other day helps with frequency and healing process. Trying to stay positive and not stressing over this!

Yeah, I was in an unhealthy marriage and we were both just staying in the marriage for the kids. Since I moved out of the house I've noticed a huge difference in my anxiety level (lot lower) . I have a long road to hoe but it feels right. I think seeing Chrissy was definitely the biggest contributor to recovering so quickly. I don't think I could of reached those internal TP deep tight areas by myself and since she could, seemed like it accelerated the process.

Well, its been a year now since I found you guys (site) and just wanted to thank you for pointing me in the right direction for recovery. My frequency/urgency problems are 90% better as long as I don't drink caffeine.
I've been doing my own internal stretching every 2 weeks or so which has been helping relieve the perineum burn that I get while sitting in my chair at work. I switched up my workouts at the gym and eliminated riding the stationary bike. Taking Wednesday as a out of the office day, just running errands and stuff to break up the work stress that builds through the week. Starting meditation again and that seems to be helping too.

Anyways, just wanted to report that what you guys taught me is working and I'm grateful to have stumbled upon this website

Happy New Year to all and thanks again

Randy
