Congeners
WS, My thanks for the link on the congeners. I had always suspected a diference with Vodka and gin and I never knew why. And mixing is in fact the worst. I thank you because even after 25 years of adulthood, I don't know where else I'd learn or confirm something like this. You'd think my Irish Urologist, who was like a friend, would have told me, but that is in an ideal world in an alternative parallel universe.

Re: ok... Alcohol = flare up
Hi all, I drank lots of whiskey and Guinness etc for St. Patricks day, and although it seems to make the pain in the urethra more intense, the next day I feel as if my muscles are relaxed, although the hangover more than compensates for this rather expensive luxury! I suppose if anything it shows, again, that this condition is muscular. Perhaps it even hints at which came first, the chicken or the egg, i.e. did the muscles start becoming tense first or are other factors (skeletal misalignment after bad fall in my case) the primary cause-factors? I felt a lot better in the urethra the next day and just felt looser all over. But as this effect declines the usual symptoms return.... Grrrrrr!
Age: 25 Onset: 23. | Symptoms: Burning in urethra, urinary frequency/urgency, 'golf ball' in butt syndrome, muscle tension form pelvis to calves, constipation, IBS, testicular pain/inflam, bladder pain when nearly full, difficulty relaxing muscles (coccygeal, levator ani etc.), pain and muscles tension in anus/perineum. Helped by: quercetin, relaxation, baths, heat packs applied to perineum. Worsened by: Stress, driving, sitting, jogging, caffeine etc.
