bb-

Let me clarify:

I had been riding a stationary bike for 6 months when I had my first noticeable flare up. I would average about an hour a day, 5 days a week at the gym. I set the resistance near max and pushed ‘til I was nauseous and then I’d back off until the nausea went away and then push it again.

To allow myself to recover from my first flare up, I only walked on a treadmill for a few weeks. It was painful. Now I’m doing the elliptical machine and treadmill for an hour and half. Prep. H really, REALLY helps!

For meds, I was prescribed a month of Cipro only… I never considered getting pain medication at that time. I took aspirin and drank heavily. The serious pain from the first flare up lasted close to a month. After the serious pain went away, I felt like I had a dull pain and/or a knot in/around my prostate. The feeling changed throughout the day. Sometimes painful, sometimes like a knot. Always there though. Ironically, today is the first day I haven’t felt either condition down there.

I have an appointment with Dr. Weiss in San Francisco next week. I’ll post the results of the visit.
